Preview: Philadelphia Flyers at Montreal Canadiens, 7:30 p.m. ET.The Flyers play their first game without captain Chris Pronger(notes) as they try to improve on their 3-0-0 road start to the season. For Montreal, the vultures are already hovering over Head Coach Jacques Martin's head as the Canadiens are off to their worst start in 70 years. One boost to the Habs' lineup could be in the form of Max Pacioretty(notes), who's a game-time decision with an upper-body injury. UPDATE: The Habs have announced they've relieved assistant coach Perry Pearn of his duties. Pearn had been a part of this morning's skate and was obviously the problem.
Preview: St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks, 10 p.m. ET. Drama in both nets! Jaroslav Halak(notes) hasn't been cutting it so far in the St. Louis net, so Brian Elliot will go for his third straight win, while Cory Schneider's(notes) presence is keeping things interesting in Vancouver considering Roberto Luongo's(notes) start. Schneider came on in relief and stopped all eight shots he faced on Tuesday night after Luongo allowed three second period goals in a loss to the Edmonton Oilers.
Preview: Colorado Avalanche at Calgary Flames, 10 pm. ET. Another team strong on the road early on are the Avs who currently stand 6-0-0 away from Pepsi Center. Curtis Glencross(notes) (lower-body soreness) will be a game-time decision for Calgary after taking part in this morning's skate meaning the OMG line could be reunited.
• The Edmonton Oilers' arena deal went through by a 10-3 vote from the city council this afternoon. "The plan will use money from the city, Oilers owner Daryl Katz, a ticket tax, and an expected contribution from the province to build a $450-million arena and commercial complex." So another billionaire got another handout, you say? [Edmonton Journal]

Puck Buddy Comment of the Day: Peter on Taylor Hall's Twitter getting hacked:
By "Got hacked into" he really means, "I left my Twitter signed on at the Mac Store at the mall."
Bold prediction: Brian Elliott's(notes) Reign of Terror in the St. Louis net comes to an end as the Canucks let out all of their frustrations in a 5-1 win. Four-point night for one of the Sedins (you pick).
