Here are your Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• Well, Jaromir Jagr looks happy. Which makes us happy. Seriously, we can only wish him the best of luck at the craps table in that new Russian hockey league. Oh, and speaking of the KHL: Debating its threat level in regards to the NHL may have officially jumped the shark with the publication of writer Todd Maternowski's absurdist assessment of the matter. Or as he puts it: "A comprehensive and amazingly fair-minded breakdown of NHL versus KHL, using the very latest in outdated historical stereotypes and unfounded urban myths." [Pegasus News]
• The KB attends the Vancouver Canucks "state of the franchise" event and spies a Canucks "Sundin, 13" jersey. That's a big middle finger to the Hockey Gods right there. [Orland Kurtenblog]
• The new Winter Classic logo was hard to make out in the press event photos, but a clear graphic shows that it's Wrigley-inspired and retro cool. [Icethetics]
• Both Mike Commodore and Jason Spezza have spoken about the relative flop of the 2007-08 Ottawa Senators recently, with Spezza defending its chemistry and Commodore saying the team was "a little complacent." Which makes the hiring of drill sergeant Craig Hartsburg all the more understandable, doesn't it?
• Five breakout players for 2008-09? How about Bobby Ryan, Mathieu Garon, Mikko Koivu, Joe Corvo and David Krejci? [Hockey Bums]
• Matthew Barnaby spinning yarns on the LCS radio show sounds like a good time. Question: When you picture Barnaby, what jersey do you see him in? [LCS Hockey]
• Very interesting: Randy Cunneyworth joins the coaching staff of the Atlanta Thrashers after leading the Rochester Americans for eight seasons. Smart move here. [Thrashers]
• The Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks are all facing their own personal salary cap hells. [Spector]
• Speaking of two of those teams, the Bruins snagged Martin St. Pierre from the 'Hawks. This is what passes for a hockey transaction on July 24. [Bruins]
• Fedor Fedorov drops the gloves at New Jersey Devils camp. To fight, not because he doesn't have Sergei's hands. [Fire & Ice]
• Taking a rather objective look at the matter, there's a very good chance that the St. Louis Blues will finish dead-ass-last in their division. [THN]
• Michael Nylander has been rather lost in the Washington Capitals' shuffle this off-season, but this argument says he should be a vital part to next season's team. [The Red Skate]
• Recalling the Polish power of Marius Czerkawski. [Lowetide]
• Finally, FanHouse points us to this photo of the No. 06 Rexall Honda, which will boast Edmonton Oilers logos at the inaugural Rexall Edmonton Indy. Try and spot the hockey players in the shot:

As much as I'd like to see him back, Nylander would be good trade bait to upgrade Caps D i.e. to replace Milan "Turnover Machine" Jurcina.

I think it's a dress!?! That's the real reason he couldn't play for the Rangers anymore, his dress kept getting in the way of his skates.
@ #2 Ted Oh OK
@ #5 5 4 LMAO!

Sabres. Much as I'd like to say old-school blue and gold, though, I actually see red and black.

Speaking of the Flyers, I doubt they'll move Knuble. He is healthy and productive. I have NO idea why Mike Rathje is still hanging around. He played the entire second half of 2005-06 pumped full of cortizone; we had no one else to play. He played 18 games in 2006-07 and none at all last year. See ya later. Derian Hatcher performed admirably given his age and injuries, and he had a calming effect on our young D down the stretch. It will be a shame for him to be pushed aside but his time has passed. Cobun and Jones will have increased roles, and Kukkonen, Eminger and Parent will have chances to play.
