Here are your Weekend Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• Here are the Winter Classic sweaters for the Wrigley Field game, and here is the unveiling video. The Chicago Blackhawks will wear "a primarily black jersey with red and beige horizontal body stripes that was worn by the club in 1936-37," and that's some snappy Photoshopping right there. The Detroit Red Wings will wear "a white-based jersey with a single red body stripe inspired by the jerseys initially worn by the club circa 1926-27." Chris Chelios was kind enough to model his jersey from the '27 season. Now, can someone tell us how either of these jerseys is an improvement over the iconic sweaters these teams should be wearing in Wrigley? [NHL]
• Bill Davidge, radio color analyst for the Columbus Blue Jackets, makes the claim that the Jackets don't get video replay calls because no one respects them. And then he adjusted his tin foil hat while looking for a black helicopter. [Blue Jackets]
• So after the St. Louis Blues won last night to shatter any notion of a "Sarah Palin Curse," columnist Joe Walljasper keeps the meme alive by claiming it only affects Canadians. [Columbia Tribune]
• The Vancouver Canucks retire their fan base. And yet they still haven't put them out of their misery. [Canucks and Beyond]
• You know we're passionate about the fight against breast cancer. But some teams -- and we're looking at you, Halifax Mooseheads -- might want to consider alternatives to the pink jersey thing. [Icethetics]
• Newsday's Greg Logan calls into question the New York Islanders' claim that goalie Rick DiPietro was injured last night against the Carolina Hurricanes; openly questioning the team's honesty because no injury announcement was made in the press box and because DiPietro was playing poorly. Well, Chris Botta breaks the news that DiPi's injured. And NYI Fan Central is calling Greg Logan into question: "Mr Logan, the team does not trust you or Newsday's staff for their coverage of our team and I do not blame them." [NYI Fan Central]
• Bruce "Malkin to the Kings" Garrioch cranks up the Mattias Ohlund/Ottawa Senators rumor mill. [Ottawa Sun]
• Dallas Stars Coach Dave Tippett calls out Marty Turco: "You can't have an .820 save percentage and survive in this league." Or, really, any league outside of Roller Hockey International, where it would have earned you the Vezina. [Dallas Stars]
• We don't know who she is, and this was taken at MSG so she's probably a Rangers fan, but we're always in favor of bawdy blondes, dressed for the club, giving the zebras hell while holding a beverage.
• So the NHL has the foresight to move the trade deadline because there are 12 games scheduled that night, but doesn't have the foresight not to schedule 15 games on a World Series night? [Snapshots]
• The Tampa Bay Lightning players were put through some brutal drills this morning. GM Brian Lawton on the upcoming stretch of games for the Bolts: "We're looking to see what kind of character they do or don't have." [Lighting Strikes]
• The Colorado Avalanche defeat the streaking Buffalo Sabres, and suddenly Avs fans are rushing to un-push that panic button. [Mile High Hockey]
• After a collision with Brent Sopel last night, Detroit's Johan Franzen will miss three-to-four weeks with a knee sprain. [TSN]
• Brett Lebda has been named the worst player in hockey so far this season. Somewhere, Radim Vrbata weeps. [Puck Stops Here]
• Interesting NHL economic news from Pierre LeBrun. "Because of the bad economic times, the NHL Players' Association has decided -- I think wisely -- to have the players fork out more in escrow, at least for the first quarter of the season: 13.5 percent." [ESPN]
• Finally, major props to rookie Luke Schenn of the Toronto Maple Leafs for playing the enforcer role last night against Chris Neil:

Many of us Avs fans never pushed that panic button.

It should be all about how the team's appear from a distance. Recognizable numbers and solid coloring. With so much padding and helmets, all we need is to clearly know which team is which (not a problem) and within the team which players are which (could be better).
Other than that, at least don't embarrass us with "flavor of the month" logos and images.

Hopefully Luke can lead the Leafs to another 9th place finish and yet another mediocre draft.

Haven't the Wings basically been wearing their classic jersey's since 1932. The blackhawks retro attempt is a little closer to home but more stripes would have been more authentic. And I don't see any STRINGS on either teams old jerseys! I just hope the wings don't try to wear it again, that never did so hot in there "Detroit" retro jersey's.

Just let the NHL market. If its not embarrassing where's the harm. You can only sell the same thing to a person so many times. In europe football teams have a few kits and make a killing selling to the faithful. The NHL should take more hints from the most successful sport on the planet.
