Here are your Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• The 11 non-playoff teams with the best shots at making the postseason next season. The Los Angeles Kings at No. 1? We might have opted for the Dallas Stars. But we agree that when it comes to the Edmonton Oilers, all bets are off with Pat Quinn and his coaching staff behind the bench. [Custance]
• Meanwhile, John Grigg of The Hockey News sings the praises of the St. Louis Blues as a Central Division contender before ending with: "Would I bet my house on St. Louis finishing the season as a top-three seed in the West? No. But would I drop $25 on it in Vegas? You betcha." [THN]
• Puck The Media with Mike Lange. Awesome. [PTM]
• Someone stole a signed limited edition poster of Sidney Crosby(notes) from a Tim Horton's in Strathmore, Alberta earlier this month. Without anyone asking him to do so, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain has replaced it with a limited edition poster of him hoisting the Stanley Cup after Game 7. The store manager claims there will be extra security taken to secure this poster. We suggest a laser floor like in "Ocean's 12." Or hiring Georges Laraque(notes) full-time. [Sun Media]
• We're inexcusably late in posting this, but Pucks and Pitchforks counted down the Top 10 hockey jerseys past and present; honestly, until they said it, the majesty of the Minnesota North Stars sweater was lost on us. [P&P]
• Alexander Ovechkin(notes) of the Washington Capitals on the NHL strong-arming Russian players out of the 2014 Sochi Olympics ("if they forbid us, it will be ugly and wrong") and on meeting Barack Obama ("He only invites Stanley Cup winners. Next season I'm going to put forth all my effort to have a reason to meet with Obama."). Killer stuff as usual. [Japers' Rink]
• Here's the second part of the big, sweeping New Media/Traditional Media chat we participated in over on Defending Big D. Today's topics: Hockeybuzz, credentials for bloggers and mainstream media double standards. [Defending Big D]
• Josh Harding(notes) and the Minnesota Wild agree on a one-year deal, avoiding arbitration. At $1.1 million, that's a moveable contract. [Hockey Wilderness]
• Malkin To The Kings reports that a secret NHL cabal is denying contracts to free agents like Alex Tanguay(notes) and Miro Satan to bring their prices down. Did they discuss this at the last Stonecutters meeting? [Sun Media]
• Vincent Lecavalier(notes) is predictably disappointed that linemate and friend Vinny Prospal is being bought out by the Tampa Bay Lightning. [Lightning Strikes]
• Fun look at goaltending records, from the quirky (Johan Hedberg(notes): Shootout God) to the unbreakable (Terry Sawchuk has 172 career ties). There's also a poll comparing "unbreakable" NHL goalie records, and Jose Theodore(notes) shutout/goal in the same game is currently leading. [NHL]
• Team Sweden won't incur the NHLPA's Olympic camp wrath because it doesn't have an on-ice component to its camp; Team Finland, on the other hand, as already made changes because of the PA's stance on player participation. [Snapshots]
• The Florida Panthers' ownership situation could gain some clarity in the near future, according to George Richards: "The Sports Properties Acquisition Corp. and the Panthers are close to have a sale agreement in place." [On Frozen Pond]
• A columnist from Newsday goes to the Sprint Center Web site, finds tickets still available in July for an NHL exhibition game in September, and passes judgment on Kansas City as a hockey town. [Newsday]
• Meanwhile, August 4 is being called the most important date in Islanders history. Huh ... figured they'd wait until the season to retire Alexei Yashin's(notes) number. Oh well, this Lighthouse rally will have to do. [Islanders Independent]
• Interesting hockey-centric take on the cancellation of the Empire State Games. [Post Standard]
• Talking New York Rangers sale in the New York Times. [Slap Shot]
• The Vancouver Canucks offer Kyle Wellwood(notes) an extra $2,500 at their arbitration hearing. Or, in Kyle Wellwood terms, 2,500 items from the BK dollar menu. [Province]
• Czech out this Melt Your Face Off take on buy outs. [MYFO]
• Two Craig Custance articles in the same Headlines? Why not: The Detroit Red Wings have offered ex-Blue Jacket Jason Williams(notes) a one-year deal. [Sporting News]
• Finally, there's a much better prank call with Josh Gorges(notes) of the Montreal Canadiens on JT Utah's site that's completely NSFW and has very coarse language. Here's a prank call with Matt D'Agostini(notes) that's just sort of squirmy.

For some reason, I can't get into the link to The Sporting News regarding Detroit offering for Jason Williams, so I'm just going to ask: How in the heck can Detroit do this when (last I heard) they have no idea what the final outcome with Hudler will be and they had less than $2 million to spend the last time I looked?
