Here are your Morning Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• Minnesota Wild defenseman Nick Schultz accuses Colorado Avalanche forward Darcy Tucker of threatening to hit him at the knees and then following through with a dirty hit later in the game. Avs blogger Jibblescribbits says Tucker can "go to hell" if this true, where we suppose he'll find friendship with such upstanding former Colorado players as Claude Lemieux, Chris Simon and Dale Hunter. [Star Tribune]
• Jim Balsillie floats the idea of buying the Montreal Canadiens, and the team sets a land-speed record in denying it's for sale. [TSN]
• Please recall that horrifically ironic story about a Chicago Blackhawks fan dying at a game just like her mother had years earlier. Third Man In, a Hawks blog, blasts the team for not noting this on its Web site: "There's space on the website for a story about a book drive and a self-congratulatory article about how TV ratings are up or what players think of Patrick Kane's figurine giveaway, then surely they could find three lines to pass on sympathies in a public forum." [Third Man In]
• Paul Kukla asks some prominent hockey scribes where they think Mats Sundin is headed. The New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks loom large. [Kuklas]
• "Alexander Semin took a struggling team on his back and willed them to triumph with his magic wrists." That Semin/Sergei Fedorov/Alexander Ovechkin line did look pretty damn good last night for the Washington Capitals. That said, nary a point from any other forward. Congrats: You're now the Senators. [On Frozen Blog]
• Sergei Fedorov gets 475 red carnations for 475 NHL goals. And then he gets hurt. In lieu of flowers, please send ... [DC Sports Bog]
• "No defense, no goaltending, no forecheck, no life" make Homer something something. Oh, and no victory for the Philadelphia Flyers against the Ottawa Senators, either. Can Shanny save the day? [Philly.com]
• "Exactly Why the Maple Leafs are the Bane of the NHL." An analysis of this issue that, surprisingly, doesn't take three days. [The Good Point]
• Kevin Schultz of Barry Melrose Rocks official calls off the Melrose firing watch: "Melrose should get through the season with his job in tact, assuming the bottom doesn't completely fall out. And it would have to fall far." [FanHouse]
• A decision by Comcast could affect TV coverage of college hockey in New England. [College Hockey News]
• Really good news/bad news situation for the San Jose Sharks last night: Clowe-verfield was awesome, but losing Evgeni Nabokov with what looked like a knee injury would be the aforementioned "bad news." [We Bleed Teal]
• Meanwhile, young players like Alex Pietrangelo and Ben Bishop battled hard for the St. Louis Blues in the Shark Tank. They're not going to win much in the STL, but the foundation is coming together. [The Hockey Guy]
• Nothing brings out the funny better than almost seeing your team blow a 5-0 lead at home to the Edmonton Oilers. [Pensblog]
• A good look at the inherent lies and half-truths that come along with the NHL's injury non-disclosure policy. [Snapshots]
• Relive last night's incredibly wild and fun Nashville Predators/Calgary Flames game via a live blog summary. [Five Hole Fanatics]
• Finally, bloopers from NHL.com's The Hockey Show. Carrie Milbank giggling in a clingy Devils shirt should have its own network.

YLOL. You know, for all the Devils/Rangers vitriol happening over on the other post, I needed that. Thanks.

Speaking of dirty players, I'm actually liking what Mike Smith is bringing to the table in Tampa Bay. That's a straight shooter with Ron Hextall written all over him.
