Here are your Afternoon Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.
• Conn Smythe or playoff con? Sam from Doubt About It offers a thorough and revealing statistic analysis of Philadelphia Flyers goalie Marty Biron before he faces the Pittsburgh Penguins. "Biron is going to have to play better than he's already played and the Flyers have to crack a surprisingly stout Penguins defense. The chances of both happening are slim. Pens in 5." [Doubt About It]
• My buddies Japers and Mirtle are driving the effort for fans to purchase player page sponsorships on Hockey-Reference.com, which we profiled recently. Just in case you were curious: No, there isn't any official sponsor of the Wade Belak page.
• Who has the best hockey hair? Original title: Best excuse to drive traffic to a gaming site and run a Jaromir Jagr mullet shot. [Hockey Sports Wagers]
• The Colorado Avalanche have more than a few questions to answer about their forwards in the off-season. Such as "Will Joe Sakic return?" and "Do we even want Peter Forsberg back?" [In The Cheap Seats]
• The Montreal Canadiens are ripped for not playing enough French-language songs during games. "Lady Marmalade" named official new goal celebration tune. [CP]
• Here's an argument against playing in the World Championships: Jeff Halpern, ACL, done for what we hear could be several months. And the Brad Richards trade tilts even further in favor of the Dallas Stars. [Lighting Strikes]
• Speaking of Dallas: Is former GM Doug Armstrong getting enough credit for having built the team that's playing in the Western Conference Finals? [Stars Blog]
• The Washington Capitals would love to have Sergei Fedorov back next season. At $6 million? Not so much. [Capitals Insider]
• Toronto Maple Leafs fans react to the firing of Paul Maurice, and the majority of them would have preferred to have seen every player on the roster fired instead. And they want Pat Quinn back, too. [City News]
• Finally, the Leafs could do a lot of wacky things with their front office. Like using EA Sports games to determine all of their transactions. Or having it staffed by a dozen highly trained, hockey savvy squirrels. But perhaps the wackiest thing they could possibly do would be to hire Bobby Clarke to be their next general manager. And you thought being a goalie on Toronto was difficult now... [Sportsnet]

Hey, Hey, My, My. Rock & roll will never die...
In what way is Neil Young French? He may be Canadian and might even speak French, but he was born an anglophone in Toronto. One of the greatest songwriters though.
My, My, Hey, Hey. Rock & roll is here to stay...
