Puck Headlines: Brad Marchand update; NHL 12 goalie fight

• Ladies, here is a ferocious bit of rink-inspired fashion for you. Via Glamor.com comes DSquared2's "Skate Moss" (seriously) footwear. From Wrap Around Curl: "I don't care how dangerous they are and how fast I'd snap my ankle. I'm more focused on how gorgeous and interesting they are (I figured they'd be from McQueen for starters but DSquared also brought us the incredible five-inch Canadian flag pumps a few years ago) and how tall they would make me. I'd gleefully trip so many people in these. "You want me to go to the penalty box? Four minutes for being fashionable? Well okay, I'll take a seat next to Sean Avery.'"(notes) Retail price? If we can get running in the top-20 early on then that would be a good start. I would like to be in the top-10 by the end of the season. But top-15 is realistic with the people we have . . . I'm going to work with (assistant coach) Todd Richards this year and Todd has a pretty good track record of having good power plays." [Puck-Rakers]

• Steven Ovadia nails it about Sidney Crosby(notes) and the "as Sid goes, so goes the NHL mindset: "The lesson of Winnipeg and the lesson of Crosby's concussion are the same one: if the NHL is going to remain a strong sports league, it needs fans to embrace teams and not a core group of league-deemed important players." [Puck Update]
