Here are your Afternoon Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.
• Joel Quenneville's done with the Colorado Avalanche. But with several openings around the League, Adam Proteau doesn't believe he'll be out of a job for long. [The Hockey News]
• We saw the most disappointing thing on the front page of the Washington Post sports section today. No, not the sad (but inevitable) news that Olie Kolzig and the Washington Capitals have parted ways. It was the fact that the Post has paid for Michael Wilbon to travel to Los Angeles and write a column about a Lakers player in the second-round of the NBA playoffs, while there hasn't been hardly a drop of ink spilled by a staff writer on the Stanley Cup Playoffs after the Caps were ousted. Absolutely pathetic, and a poor understanding what its readership wants, in our opinion.
• From our man the 'Duk over on Big League Stew (a Y! Sports Blog!), check out Jason Giambi and Johnny Damon at Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals last night. [Big League Stew]
• The finalists for the Masterson Trophy have been announced. We'll have our take soon, but there's been a major omission here in our eyes. [Globe & Mail]
• The dance between Dave Nonis and the Toronto Maple Leafs continues: He said there was no contact between the two, and then the Canadian Press reports that he'll meet with them next week. Meanwhile, both the Sharks and Red Wings denied the Leafs the chance to speak with their front office candidates. [TSN]
• A review of the previous playoff pleasantries between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers. [FanHouse]
• Huzzah! Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals will, in fact, be presented in glorious HD! [Kukla]
• Few players have looked as consistently bad-ass on their hockey cards as Mike Liut. [Get High on Hockey]
• Finally, we'd like to be able to show you video of this amazing goal-saving play from the IIHF World Championships, as a Norway defender prevented a Rick Nash goal with a glove swipe. But not only does WCSN bury advertising in some of its exclusive YouTube uploads of IIHF action, it prevents video embeds of its footage. Check it out here, even if the organization that uploaded it is acting like a total bitch.

Fixed it. Silly Getty Images had the photo mis-labeled, and in my haste I didn't pick it up.
