Ed. Note: We're live blogging every hour of the NHL trade deadline until its completion at 3 p.m. ET. Older time-stamped entries are found at the end of the post.

12:42 p.m. ET: Via reader Braden Gibbs, a Sportsnet fail on the Dennis Wideman(notes) trade, who did not appear with the Boston Bruins this season. D'oh:

12:34 p.m. ET: Update on the Brad Richards(notes) situation for the Dallas Stars, via Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas:

Brad Richards said he has not given the club a list of teams to which he'd waive no-trade clause.

Stars would need to come to Richards with deal. He did not give them list of teams he'd waive no-trade clause for.

Wait, so he never said "just the Rangers"? Dean Lombardi's ears are tingling.

12:24 p.m. ET: More rumor control from George Richards, as Sportsnet reported earlier Monday that Stephen Weiss(notes) of the Florida Panthers would only waive his no-trade clause for the Toronto Maple Leafs. From the Miami Herald's Richards:

C Stephen Weiss laughs when told word is he would waive NTC to Toronto..."Haven't talked to anyone about Toronto. Or anywhere. False."

My, my ... laughing even!

12:18 p.m. ET: Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal providing needles to the Nashville Predators fans' balloons: "Forget the Predators getting Hemsky. Not happening." Boo.

12:02 p.m. ET: Y! Sports' Nick Cotsonika reports that the Detroit Red Wings have re-signed goalie Jimmy Howard(notes) for $2.25 million per year over two years. From Cotsonika:

"Howard was making about $750,000. And you know how GM Ken Holland likes to keep his goaltending costs down."

Indeed. Wonder how Craig Anderson(notes) feels about this deal as he heads into contract talks with the Ottawa Senators?

Speaking of the Ottawa Senators and goaltending: They've claimed former Anaheim Ducks keeper Curtis McElhinney(notes) from the Tampa Bay Lightning on waivers. Via Bruce Garrioch of the Sun:

Pascal Leclaire(notes) cleared waivers. McElhinney claim means Lehner will be sent down to the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton.

Other waivers claims Monday were Brett Carson(notes) of the Carolina Hurricanes by the Calgary Flames and Robbie Schremp of the New York Islanders claimed by the Atlanta Thrashers.
