We're all for trying new things here at Puck Daddy, so this is either going to be rather cool or a complete train wreck.
Below is a live blog where we're going to feature 12 different Twitter feeds from various hockey people on Free Agent Frenzy Day 2009 (a.k.a. "Canada" Day. What hubris!). In theory, what we'll end up with is a place where breaking news and rumors can be easily located; and, at the end of the day, one big chronicle of all the chatter and near-misses that make today such a blast.
The insiders we're following: Kevin Allen of USA Today; Craig Custance of The Sporting News; Chris Johnston of the Canadian Press; Dan Tencer of CHED Radio; Elliotte Friedman of CBC Sports; David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period; Paul Kukla of Kukla's Korner; Darren Dreger of TSN; Michael Russo of the Star Tribune; Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The comic relief: Yours truly, Sean Leahy and the great Down Goes Brown.
For clarity's sake: This isn't a live chat; we're postponing our usual Wednesday fun because there's just too much stuff going on for our usual guests. This is just another way to bring some breaking news to the site ... if it isn't an epic fail. Enjoy the chaos!
(To the Twitter newbies -- "RT" means "re-tweet," as in something that's been quoted; "@______" is the quoted user.)

Agreed on USA TODAY. But Kevin Allen's Twitter feed has been a must-read for a while. He's great.

But in all seriousness, We can't offer more than $2.5 million, but perhaps we can offer a longterm deal and backload it.

Don't forget Andrew Ebbett. He put up semi-decent numbers in limited games. Will probably be pencilled in as #2 C in Duckland.

As with the Sedin's, I wasn't sure how Vancouver would pull it off, but I couldn't see them playing anywhere else.
