The holidays are upon us. Chances are you already have your Christmas tree up. Or your Hanukkah bush. Or your Festivus pole. Or your pagan goat sacrifice altar.
What do all these things require? Ornaments. But finding the right hockey-related ornament can be a challenge. Which is where you come in.
Presenting our latest Puck Daddy Reader Art Contest: NHL Holiday Ornaments!
Two ways to enter this bad boy:
1. Photoshop/Digital Artistry. Much like the rest of our contests, we want to give you something for which you can channel your energy instead of working or book learnin' during the day. All we ask is that end product look like something you might be able to hang from a tree. It doesn't necessarily have to be a ball, but we obviously respect any entries with balls.
2. Create a Physical Hockey Ornament. As in our other contests, if you go out of your way to create something artsy and craftsy, and then send us an image or video of it, then you shall receive bonus points. Many of you no doubt have children; enlist their slave labor this weekend.
Use the delicious Boston Bruins image above as inspiration. You can create something new, or play around with existing images.
So two ways to enter, and enter as often as you'd like (PG-13 Content Warning, as always). The deadline for submissions is a week from today: Thursday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. EST/3 p.m. PST.
Email your entries to puckdaddyblog@yahoo.com, or hit us with any questions.
As a reminder of last year's whimsy, here were the entries for our 2010 Create a Holiday Card contest.
Oh for Pete's sake … prizes? You want prizes? Fine. Among the treasures for this year's contest are a 2011 Winter Classic jersey and hat (last season's game); a collection of hockey books; EA Sports' NHL 12 for Xbox; and some vintage prizes from Heritage Hockey.
Again: puckdaddyblog@yahoo.com for entries, or hit us with any questions. Good luck, get 'Shopping or constructing, and thanks for supporting this ridiculousness.
