Puck Daddy - NHL

Earlier this month, we purchased the Hockey-Reference.com page of Anaheim Ducks defenseman Chris Pronger and asked you to provide the slogan that will appear on that page for the next year. Over 300 entries flooded the comments section and our e-mail inbox, and many of them reached the level of snarky tribute we so dearly hoped they would.

Fellow puckheads, the field has been narrowed down and the time has come to put this thing to a vote. We'll keep this poll open until the end of the week; remember, this message will greet every fan who wants to see what Pronger's plus/minus rating was during the year he skate-stomped Kesler. In other words, make it count ...

What slogan should appear on Chris Pronger's Hockey-Reference.com page?

[Note: There is a poll within this post, RSS readers. Visit Puck Daddy to cast your vote.]

You should have (must?) include at least one positive option. Your poll in invalid. Your reputation is at risk.

I think you all should be ashamed of yourself. If Pronger was on your team you would all be praising him, but no, you have to stoop to this level. Get a life people.

Look people complaining about the poll options, the first one is obviously the most praising of him so vote with multiple screen names for that option. He does play at a high level, but can stoop to a low level when the situation arises. How many times has he been suspended? He's no Sean Avery, but he has had his share of Sean Avery moments.

Hockeymomz- Pronger is #1 on the list of players I would not want on my team- I don't care how good he is. Hopefully he'll stay in Anaheim, their style of play seems to suit him just fine.

This is the stupidest crap. Pronger is a great hockey player. He's the only Dman since Orr to win the Hart. This is all of Canada being butt hurt since he asked to be traded from Edmonton. Who cares if he plays on the edge?
This contest with the slogan thing is the gayest thing yahoosports has done in a while.

StaceyD-Uwe Krupp, that's who I was trying to think of the other day. Thanks..Yeah on all three, Bertuzzi, biggest "bag" of them all. I still stand by "Hack" for Pronger, but douchebag will work.

Pronger could have chosen to simply be a good hockey player.
But he decided to be a dirty hockey player.
That was his choice and exactly how he'll be remembered.

if pronger was on my team we would have a dirty player. whether he produces on my team or not he is still a dirty player that should have been suspended for more games than he was at the end of the regular season

This is dumb.. Chris and Lauren are wonderful people.. And this stuff about Chris being a dirty player... Imagine being 6'6 and having little midgets (ie Dean McAmmond 5'11 and Tomas Holmstrom 6'0) coming at you and running into your elbows all the time; being small like that and running into giants, you're gonna get knocked out... I mean come on, Chris is a hard guy to miss, just avoid running into the guy and you won't get hurt! He's a GREAT guy... Leave him alone!

i hate the crap that he pulls...i cant stand the fact that he has made such a bad name for himself(which he earned) but i do like him in those little moments when he protects our blue line..when he snags a puck and some of those crisp passes and monster shots on goal...as a ducks fan myself, do i feel it makes it ok for him to do some of the things he does?...no. ...but those little moments of great hockey that he does play during a given game....a winning shot from the blue, a perfect pass to a streaking sniper.. etc...does it all even out...i dont know, ive struggled with it myself...guess you can say im not a big fan of him(obviously hated the guy before he was a duck) but as long as he's in anaheim..ill support him, but never defend him. i truely dont see him wearing that c next season..much more deserving players of that id say. cheers!!!

i was torn between 1 and 5. i went with 5, because I do still remember how big of a douche bag he can be. If 1 went something like "Despite his great skill, he will always be remembered as that one douche bag," then I would have gone with that.

How about....I wish I was half as good as the top 2 defenseman of all time Nick Lidstrom whos about to win his 6th Norris trophy compared to my 1. I have no idea how I won the Hart Trophy in 2000, Pavel Bure prob shouldve easily won it with his 58 goals.

Tenacity is the name of the game, he has won big games, provided big hits and scored throughout his career. Since when, through the history of the game has a team not depended on such a force to provide an edge...every time that goes to the end has a key piece that will battle, bruise and take one for the team.
From Peterborough, to the national teams lucky enough to have him patrolling the blue lines to Edmonton and Anaheim in the pro ranks he has provided an edge brought grit and taken these teams to the big prize.
I would want him on any team that I cheered for, wanted him in a Sudbury Wolves Jersey, love him wearing a Maple Leaf and would die to see him in a Toronto jersey...

Puck Fronger!!!.....One of the dirtiest players in the NHL. Everytime he touches the puck in San Jose, he is booed by the entire 17,946 fans there.
