Puck Daddy - NHL

From Puck Daddy reader Scott comes this image of a Chicago Blackhawks sweater that's either an indication of this fan's disdain for the Detroit Red Wings or his stance on the U.S. automakers bailout:

Another jersey that is just bad. Taken at Goose Island by Wrigley during the Winter Classic. Note the sideways 8 to let everyone know that Detroit Sucks Infinitely.

As we've stated before on the record: The "sucks" jersey is a waste of a good home-team sweater as well as "the admission of deep, psychological scarring on the part of your conference rivals and eternal tormentors."

That said ... in a world of No. 69 McLovin jerseys, the infinity symbol on the back of the sweater is actually pretty darn clever.

While it doesn't necessarily outweigh the egregious fashion faux pas of the overall jersey foul, a witty and creative mocking of a rival team on a sweater does lessen the blow. It's the subtle difference between a "Flyers Suck" jersey and a "Nineteen" No. 75 jersey.

So we put it to you, dear readers:

Pass or Fail: The Detroit sucks infinitely Chicago Blackhawks jersey?

I think it's an obvious overall fail for the "sucks" portion of the jersey. But obviously he put some thought (and quite possibly some bribing of the jersey maker) to get that #8 turned sideways. Of all the failed jerseys this year, this one ranks as the least failed...

It's clever, but most people wouldn't even get it at first, which ruins the joke.

Fail. Never use your home team jersey to mock another team. Use THEIR jersey instead.

Maybe Scott can give some of his "creativity" to the Blackhawk management so they can create a winning hockey club in Chicago. It humors me how the Blackhawks fans and the Avalanche fans continuously chant..."Detroit Sucks...Detroits Sucks...." It's kind of ironic that their fans say that we suck, yet, their team just can't seem to beat us. Hmmmm....if we suck, what does your team(s) do???
Detroit Red Wings fans (of which I'm a part of) don't resort to such childish behavior. We let the our class, the Red Wings, do our talking on the ice. So, "Scott Detroit Sucks", get back to me once you've got a winner to root for.
P.S. I wouldn't wear that sweater to the Joe...you'd most likely leave with fewer teeth (if you've got any to begin with) and one less sweater. And, oh yeah, another loss....

I applaud his creativity, but who sucks? How many Cups have the Blackheads won? They''re a bunch of wannabe Red Wings. It's kind of like private part envy.

Pass, only if his objective is to promote the Wings as the better team. One never goes through such an effort to "dis" a team if they actually do suck. Whats the point? No one wears a "Lions Suck" jersey because its true.

The Class of said Detroit fan summed up: "We won't chant your team sucks, that's childish, but we will punch you in the face for saying ours does."

why does madoffs lawyers think we are so naive? he gave away a million dollars worth of gifts because he didnt want to launder the stolen money to his family and friends. anyone who accepts anything from madoff will be investigated too. madoff gave them gifts because he is trying to unload his money around before he goes to jail. must be a bad lawyer cos i can easily see through his lies.
