The NHL Mock Draft has to be second only to the Major League Baseball mock draft in blind estimation and utter unpredictability. Take the Chicago Blackhawks: In seven different NHL Mock Drafts we surveyed, they were predicted to select five different players with the 11th pick: Colten Teubert, Colin Wilson, Zach Boychuk, Greg Nemiscz and Luca Sbisa. This whole thing pretty much makes Dr. Ian Malcolm's chaos theory look like an exact science by comparison.

Check out the following Mock Drafts at My NHL Draft, Draft Nation, The Hockey News, The National Post, TSN (what, no monkey?), The Milford Daily News (!), and Illegal Curve, which predicts the incredible pimp move of the New Jersey Devils selecting Jared Staal.

But without a doubt, the single most insane Mock Draft we've seen is at NHL Draft Site, which actually predicts all seven rounds of the NHL Draft. So according to that site, premature congratulations are in order for this year's Mr. Irrelevant: Anton Grundel of Sweden, taken at No. 211 by Detroit. Huzzah!

The blues need take take a defensman with there second pick int the draft. This will help solidify the line that holds a few up and coming defensman with the team.

So Anton Grundel's the next Henrik Zetterberg right? He was number 210, Mr. Irrelevant, and he just won the Conn Smyth. Well if Anton is our Mr. Irrelevant, I look forward to seeing you follow in every other Mr. Irrelevant's path on the Wings; a Stanley Cup Championship.

Actually, Zetterberg was taken in the 7th round at #210 in 1999. In 2002, the Wings took Jonathan Ericsson as the last overall pick in the draft (Round 9, #291). in regard to lewie the focus of the blues is looking at a first round d man with that 4 pick. they want top line defenseman young and now. they have plenty to look forward to in training camp with young wingers and centers with t.j. oshie and patrik berglund. berglund will probably be their first line center. youtube these two. i did and defense is gonna be needed with offensive minds like these out there.

I know Paul, but I got a kick out of the numbers; pick 211 for Grundel vs. 210 for Z. I know Hank wasn't the last pick, but you still don't often expect a guy picked that late to do anything, at least by non-Red Wing standards.

I like the ridiculous full draft mockery from NHL Draft Site for the Devils; hopefully they'll draft something like that for serial- 6 of 8 picks were on offense.
Lou has to do something this year (as in open the wallet) because I would hope this past year was the straw that broke the camels back. Can't keep cheapin' out and expect elite results. But at least we have a coach this offseason.

I hope the Kings just continue to draft good like they have lately! Enough of those crappy seasons!

It looks like Mats Sundin will become a Montreal Canadien. Despite being 37 he was great last year and I think this is a big story if he indeed signs a contract to go to Montreal. This will be a very interesting off season for Pittsburgh regarding Hossa, Malone, Orpik and Fleury.
