No. 1 Star: Alex Kovalev, Ottawa Senators

There may have been better performances on Monday night, but no one had the magical moment that Alex Kovalev(notes) did. He's the third Russian player to achieve that feat, joining Sergei Fedorov(notes) and Alexander Mogilny.

No. 2 Star: Johan Hedberg(notes), New Jersey Devils

The Devils had been waiting weeks to break out of their offensive doldrums and to play in front of a stellar goaltending performance. Jason Arnott(notes) scored twice and Mattias Tedenby(notes) had a critical penalty shot goal in the win.
