How could we forget about Patrick Kane's(notes) little tussle with a Buffalo cab driver last summer that set off the never-ending "20 Cent" jokes this season. The 21-year-old Stanley Cup hero was a model citizen during the season, making what happened last August look like just an isolated incident.
With the amount of partying in the coming days and months for the Chicago Blackhawks, NBC's Pierre McGuire felt he needed to remind Kane to be on his best behavior during Friday's championship parade.
Kane's reponse? "Not a chance! Not a chance!"
Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.
Kane's summer extracurricular activities were also brought up during the postgame interviews when, after he called over some friends that made it to Game 6, his "famous" cousin (as Kane introduced him) came over to congratulate the Blackhawks star on the victory. Upon hearing who this new member of the Kane entourage was, a reporter quipped, "No cab rides tonight, huh?" And then Kane's mood shifted as he then replied with, "Ah, no more questions after that."
You have to love the reporter's attempt to salvage his poor joke by attempting to quickly switch the topic to the Cup-winning goal. As if Kane would have forgotten about his cab joke instead of moving on to more media and further celebrating with his version of E, Turtle and Johnny Drama.
