Pittsburgh Penguins owner/legend Mario Lemieux's four-goal MVP performance in the 1990 NHL All-Star Game, including three on three shots in the first period, is one of the most memorable moments of his storied career at the Igloo.
For around $8,000, you can reenact that moment while looking the part, sweat stains and all.
Penguins Chronicles has Mario's complete uniform from the 1990 All-Star game up for auction on eBay, with the price set at $7,995 or your best offer. From the auction site:
This jersey is from the pre-game skate, 1st period or 2nd period. All characteristics of this Lemieux jersey match other known examples from the 1990 NHL All-Star Game exactly. You'll notice that jersey offered in this lot is identical in every way to the jersey housed at the Hockey Hall of Fame; however, Lemieux did not sign this jersey as Mr. Pritchard had both Gretzky and Lemieux sign each of the jerseys obtained at the conclusion of the game by the Hall of Fame.
Inside the pants, Wales Conference All-Stars equipment manager Steve Latin wrote "Mario Lemieux M.V.P. 1990 NHL All Star Game 4 Goals." (An inscription, incidentally, Leahy has at all times inside his own pants.)
Complete uniforms for hockey legends aren't commonplace on eBay, so this is awesome. And if you have the funding, see if you can track down the full kit for former Calgary Flames goalie Mike Vernon, have your buddy wear it, and beat him like a rented mule (tm, Mike Lange) in the comfort of your own living room.
