John Scott(notes) of the Chicago Blackhawks doesn't always get mentioned among the heavyweight champs of modern day NHL pugilism. Here's an easy solution to that lack of respect: Beat the hell out of Zack Stortini(notes) of the Edmonton Oilers until the linesmen rush in to make the save.
"And Stortini ... you've been ... thunderstruck!"
Dear NHL announcers: Please don't ruin the end of hockey fights with the kind of forced, hackneyed catchphrases that have made home run calls excruciating on baseball radio broadcasts. Unless you're Jack Edwards of NESN, because it only enhances the charm.
According to HockeyFights.com, this is the third bout between Scott and Stortini. The clashed on Nov. 6, 2006 when Scott played for the Houston Aeros and Stortini was with the Hamilton Bulldogs, and then again on March 29, 2009 when Scott was with the Minnesota Wild and Stortini was still in huggie-bear mode:
"NHL ... you've been ... thunderstruck!"
