The thing that we love about the ECHL's Florida Everblades is that they always know how to grab our attention.
Whether it's sporting "Go Green" jerseys that looked like our Windows desktops circa 1997, or the terribly terrific holiday sweaters featuring palm trees and a lot of neon green, or even just letting a post-whistle scrum devolve into an old-fashion goalie fight, the Everblades marketing department deserves some sort of award.
And further pushing their title as the kings of the outrageous jersey, the Everblades unveiled their most interesting look yet Thursday in anticipation of next week's games against the Greenville Road Warriors:

How quickly did the song "Under the Sea" pop into your head? One ... two seconds after first sight?
Woody Wommack of the Naples News explains this interesting look:
Now, before you go crazy and ask yourself why the team would wear "Little Mermaid" themed jerseys (especially when everyone knows that "The Lion King" is the current craze), I must tell you that according to the team, all the drawings on the jerseys were done by patients at the Southwest Florida Children's Hospital.
The Everblades work closely with the hospital throughout the year, including donating toys from the annual Teddy Bear Toss and pairing players with patients for a special program called "'Blades Buddies." After Saturday's game on Nov. 19, the jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the hospital.
Wommack added that the team's socks are part of the theme, like they were for the holiday ones.
Can we get some of these kids to design NHL jerseys? Surely they can come up with something better than the upcoming New York Islanders thirds or the wretched Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings' alternates from the '90s.
