Contest: Play Y! fantasy hockey with Zach Parise and Eric Staal

The 2010-11 NHL season kicks off next Thursday and by now you're probably locked into a few fantasy hockey leagues. But there's always room for one more, right?

Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey is teaming up with Zach Parise(notes) of the New Jersey Devils and Eric Staal(notes) of the Carolina Hurricanes for a special fantasy league that will give you the chance to test your skills against a pair of NHLers, a few blog writers and me, your humble associate editor.

We've got a 14-team head-to-head league that will be drafting on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET and have six spots open for readers. Now is your chance to get that cough going so you can call in sick or make it a half-day on Tuesday.

The way we'll be choosing the six spots is through a good old-fashioned caption contest. Just come with something clever and funny for the above photo featuring Mr. Staal and send it to parisestaalhockey@yahoo.com.

Be sure to include your caption in the subject of your email and one entry per email.

Please only enter if you definitely will be available to participate in the live draft this Tuesday, October 5th at 3 p.m. ET. The draft should last around two hours.

So now you have two assignments for this weekend: come up with a funny caption for this photo and fire up the Photoshop for our Sports Illustrated Create-a-Cover contest.
