Puck Daddy - NHL

The Anaheim Ducks have decided to buy out the last year of Todd Bertuzzi's contract, assuming he isn't claimed on waivers. Perhaps three goals from Feb. 1 to the end of the playoffs just isn't worth $4 million against the cap any more.

At a discount, Bertuzzi probably still has some value to someone; do the Vancouver Canucks miss him enough to put him on left wing if Naslund skates away? Could Bert fill a need and complete the circle with the New York Islanders? While we're dealing in unfettered speculation: Any chance Bertuzzi and deposed Los Angeles Kings coach Marc Crawford might go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint and wait for all of this to blow over? Yeah, didn't think so.

That's hilarious! Wasn't Burke just named GM of the year? He is completely clueless, or the people/(person?) who nominated him need to get a clue. 2 more years at $8 Mil? Enjoy that, Mr. Burke.

This isn't so much about Bert, people, as much as it is about Burke's incompetence.

Bertuzzi shouldn't play, until Steve Moore can play. Which is never!!

then they will both have lots of time to testify... Crawfish was the worst coach L.A. ever had, and if we had n't gotten rid of him Bertuzzi would have been traded to the Kings for Cammaleri.

Is it possible that if the canucks signed bertuzzi and naslund stayed in vancouver that bertuzzi could become the player he once was while playing along side morrison and naslund? Or does it have nothing to do with the chemistry and that he simply sucks?

I am not a fan of Bertuzzi, but I think if he is used right he could still be an effective player, He is not worth the 4 million, more like half that. But I will say that Bertuzzi could be a great fit in philly, calgary, or columbus. If he gets a bit more confidence back in his game, like we all seen for about a month last year, he could very well be a steal. Only time will tell, but my gut is saying the blue jackets will take a chance on him, because they have lots of cap space and he is worth taking a risk for one year.

Bertuzzi wouldn't be worth the hourly wage they paid him to work at McDonald's. What a complete waste of space. I hope he never skates again......anywhere. He contributes nothing to the NHL and after the Steve Moore incident he never should have been able to lace 'em up again.
