Seahawks running back Julius Jones will be a game-time decision for their game against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Jones missed last week with a lung contusion suffered against the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 15. He did not practice at all last week and was held out of practice on Wednesday before returning to limited duty the past two practices.

If the Seattle Seahawks are looking for an example of how the team can get over the hump from this year's struggles, they might take a look at the 2002 season.

The 2002 Seahawks, just like this year's team, started 3-7 but finished the year on a three-game win streak and ended up 7-9. The momentum gained at the end of the year helped propel them to a 10-6 campaign and the playoffs the following season. They made the playoffs five straight years after the 2002 season.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was asked about the team's performance at the end of the 2002 season, in which he took over for an injured Trent Dilfer, eventually earning the starting job.

"It was a fun time, but we also weren't a very good football team," Hasselbeck said.

The Kitsap County coroner says football player Tony Fein died of an accidental drug overdose. Coroner Greg Sandstrom said Wednesday that toxicology tests showed "acute opiate (morphine) intoxication" with the added effect of Alprazolam (al-PRAZ'-o-lam), a drug used to treat anxiety. Sandstrom says Fein also vomited and aspirated that material.
