The Steelers worked out two veteran quarterbacks on Thursday as they look to possibly replace injured Charlie Batch as the backup to Ben Roethlisberger.

Patrick Ramsey, 30, and Todd Bouman, 37, went through workouts and took physicals for the Steelers. Batch had surgery on to repair his left wrist, broken Sunday in Kansas City. He had a metal plate inserted. Coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday Batch would miss 2-4 weeks but they now are looking at the longer end of that.

Dennis Dixon, who has thrown one pass during his two seasons with the Steelers, is the only other quarterback on the roster behind Roethlisberger. Tyler Palko practiced with the team for the first time Thursday.
