Indianapolis organizers raise $25 million toward 2012 bid (AP)

Organizers of Indianapolis' Super Bowl bid say local companies and individuals have pledged $25 million in hopes of luring the 2012 event to the new Lucas Oil Stadium. NFL owners will meet in Atlanta on Tuesday to decide which city will get the game. Indianapolis is competing against Phoenix and Houston.

Peyton Manning is withholding judgment on teammate Marvin Harrison and the star receiver's legal issues. Harrison has been interviewed by police about a shooting near his North Philadelphia car wash last month, but hasn't been arrested or charged. Manning didn't make much of it when it first was reported, and he hasn't spoken with Harrison about the incident.

Indianapolis Colts team owner Jim Irsay is taking veteran wide receiver Marvin Harrison at his word.

Harrison recently told Irsay, team president Bill Polian and head coach Tony Dungy that he was not involved in a recent Philadelphia shooting incident.

For now, that's enough for Irsay. Still, he is quite aware of public perception. That said, he will take a cautious approach and wait for all the facts to come out.

"We look at everything seriously if we have an incident with any of our players. At the same time we want to make sure that we know what the facts are," Irsay said.

He added that the Colts' security staff had been in contact with NFL security in Philadelphia and with the city's police department.

The tandem that helped Indianapolis win its first Super Bowl title has been reunited after Rhodes agreed on a one-year deal to return to the Colts. Rhodes' agent, Mike McCartney confirmed the signing Wednesday in an e-mail to The Associated Press although he did not disclose financial details.
