In 1920, the National Football League was founded, consisting of 14 teams. Of those original 14, only two -- the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals -- remain. Over the years, additional NFL franchises have come and gone. The league currently features 32 teams -- most recently adding the Houston Texans in 2002 -- and all have experienced their share of high and low points.
This is a big game for the Titans. A win gives them back to back wins for the first time since 2013. It would also put them in a tie with the Houston Texans for the lead in the AFC South setting up a huge game next week against those Texans. Not to mention the fact that it would be awesome to see them win a game at home. The Raiders won't make it easy. They have a high powered offense that will be a huge test for the Titans defense. I have to give the defense credit for the work they have done so far. They have been great against the run and have been able to limit the big plays in the passing game. Hopefully that continues here. There is the potential for big plays from the offense in this one.
The New England Patriots are running out of options at quarterback with Tom Brady suspended and both Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett hurt. Fortunately, both of their backup quarterbacks have a chance to be healthy in time for next weekend’s game against the Buffalo Bills. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that Garoppolo is “definitely making progress” with his shoulder injury and the Patriots hope he will be ready to start against Buffalo. Schefter also said Brissett’s thumb injury is not considered to be serious.
