Your Houston Texans open training camp on Sunday morning, with that day doubling as the first of six (6) practice dates open to the public (tickets required, though). As there's a decent chance there's a Texans fan or two reading this who (1) has tickets to a training camp practice and (2) hasn't ever been before, I thought I might open this virtual space up for fans to ask questions, with the express goal of fellow fans providing answers to those questions. To that end, if you've got a question about training camp, post it in the Comments below; perhaps another fan will be able to give you the information you're looking for. Similarly, if you're a training camp veteran, feel free to share any tips or advice you have for those who haven't attended an open practice before.
Want something else to get excited about while we're getting all sorts of news about the Minnesota Vikings on the first day of Training Camp? Well, have we got something for you. Brett Kollmann, the lead blogger for SB Nation's site for the Houston Texans, Battle Red Blog, has been doing some scouting, and one of the players he's decided to take a look at is none other than Harrison Smith. What does he think of the NFL's highest-paid safety? Well, the title of the video is "Harrison Smith is the next Troy Polamalu." That Polamalu fella. . .he could play him some safety, if you'll remember correctly. It's taken Smith a while, but he's finally getting his due as one of the best. . .if not the best.
