Tight end Manasseh Garner was the only Bronco not making it to the field today, now we know why. Following practice the team website announced that the Denver Broncos have signed veteran tight end John Phillips and released Garner, Andrew Mason was the first to report. Phillips joins Denver upon spending 2013-15 with the San Diego Chargers after spending 2009-12 with the Dallas Cowboys where he arrived via the 6th round of the 2009 draft. Phillips a 6'5", 251 lbs. tight end is in his 7th season in the NFL, he attended Virginia where he was a team captain his Senior season and was voted first-team All-ACC . For his professional career he averages 7.1 yards per catch with 4 touchdowns, 45 catches
