Charles Chandler, of The Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers CB Charles Godfrey practiced at free safety during the team's first minicamp after playing cornerback in college. Head coach John Fox said Godfrey adapted and fit in well. Fox stated WR Steve Smith came back to the huddle after a play and said No. 30 (Godfrey) is pretty good.
