“JimWashington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn fell to a pretty low level the other day when he was told that he was still the head coach but he wasn't allowed to call the plays that his team would make on the field. Talk about powerless.

So it's looking like Zorn isn't going to have too many more chances and if his team crashes in next Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he may get canned. But he apparently won't be alone, according to ProFootballTalk. The word is that if Zorn gets thrown off the Redskins bus, another fella may be joining him: Vinny Cerrato, the team's vice president of football operations.

Of course the latter firing could wait till the season is mercifully over for the Redskins while Zorn's is expected to come at some point during the season.

zorn needs to go now. there are plenty of good coaches available.
heck, they should just tank this season and pick jimmy clausen in the draft next year.
jason campbell is a career backup. todd collins is not the answer, but they should start him anyway.

Cerrato is a bigger problem than Zorn.
No self respecting coach (Shanhan) is going to sign while Cerrato is around making disastrous personnel picks. Ultimately a team can only be as good as the players that have been put on the field to play and Cerrato is one of the worst in the league at picking talent.

zorn may be some of the problem but the players still have to make the plays. There's just too much confusion in the offensive scheme. Tired of hearing that they can play but are not.

Just because the 'skins' are on a skid doesn't mean management has to bail ship....I mean for the sake of pete let Zorn have the play calling and leave it up to the DEFENSE that they were supposedly building to carry the team to stop the other teams OFFENSE from running, passing and kicking up the field.
Where is the common sense for the 'skins' management?

Well, Zorn's been calling the plays, so if there's "too much confusion in the offensive scheme," I'd say he's more than SOME of the problem.

Although I agree he must go, but maybe they should look at the ownership of them team. Look what Al Davis has done in Oakland. Took a powerhouse team to literally nothing.

Fire Cerrato!!! He's the biggest issue that can actually be rectified quickly. The overall biggest issue is Snyder, but he won't sell the team. He's just the Peter Angelos of the NFL. He has successfully ran a great franchise into the ground.

It is apparent that changing coaches is not the answer to the Redskins problems. How many coaches have they gone through and they are still a pathetic bunch of over paid players. Their play is lack luster at best! I don't know anything about Zorn, but he seems to be a nice guy that has been hung out to dry by lazy players.

Who approved of Zorn being anything but an OC? We had the coach we needed, wanted and trusted but because crybaby Snyder didn't like him we let him go. I can count 3 assistants that have become HC's but Snyder had conflicts with them. Did Joe Gibbs really quit because he wanted to devote his time to family? He seems to be spending a lot of time with his race team so I think we had an ownership/management problem back then as well. W/o a doubt, Vinny must go!!!

It will be interesting to see who takes over the play-calling. If it's a coach with previous head-coaching experience, Zorn could be gone going into the bye week. The new O.C. takes over for the 2nd half of this "season" until they sign either Shanahan or Holgrem. Most folks here in OH don't believe the B.S. that Brady Quinn is happy with the Browns --- so who knows, he could end up in D.C.

Who put hired Cerrato as GM? Who hired Jim Zorn as a head coach, even though he only had experience being a QB coach? Who threw money at stars to fix something immediately? Who pointed fingers at coaches and QB's because the team isn't winning? Snyder did.
Point a finger at yourself Snyder...

Vinny, don't let the door hit you in the @$$ on the way out. Right now would be good.
Danny, try to learn something about team-building. Oh, and the negative effects of toxic management. Hello??? . Anyone in Ashburn listening?

The blame isn't completely on Zorn or Campbell. Zorn does not have the players he needs to run the west coast offense and Campbell simply does not have the receivers to be effective. I like Moss, but he's not the right receiver for the west coast offense. The second year wide receivers haven't amounted to anything either.
Basically, Zorn can be called out on inexperience. Doesn't mean he's a bad guy. Just a guy who was put in a position where it was IMPOSSIBLE to succeed. It all starts with the O line. That's what NFC East football is about. You build a team around that. Skins O line has not been improved at all because that idiot Snyder chooses to sign free agents and give away draft picks rather than suck it up, blow up this team, and start a true rebuilding proceses around several key players.
Skins will never succeed unless Snyder gets out of the damn way and changes his management of this organization. He's following in the footsteps of all other bad owners. The Skins future is just like now, only longer and harder.
    LET'S GO CAPS!!!!
