NFL - Sports Rumors

Only one team was able to come into Giants Stadium and beat the defending Super Bowl champions this season. And now that team is coming back to try to do it again, wrote the New York Daily News.

In what was clearly the worst-case scenario for the top-seeded New York Giants (12-4), the Philadelphia Eagles earned another shot at their NFC East rivals when they beat the Minnesota Vikings, 26-14, Sunday in the wild-card playoff round. Now the Eagles (10-6-1) will face the Giants in the divisional playoffs at Giants Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m.

"I think the Eagles are the hottest team in the NFL right now," defensive end Justin Tuck said. "They may be the sixth seed, but they sure aren't playing like it."

The Eagles have been playing extremely well for the last month-and-a-half, which the Giants learned when the Eagles pounded them at the Meadowlands back on Dec. 7. The final score was only 20-14, but Brian Westbrook (203 yards) nearly outgained the entire Giants team (211) and the Eagles defense frustrated Eli Manning, who was just 7-of-21 for 66 yards until a garbage-time touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter.

It was the third win for the Eagles in their five trips to the Meadowlands since Tom Coughlin took over the Giants in 2004.

    eli and the giants suck.
check their schedule. they've really beaten no one except carolina in a somewhat meaningful game that wont matter when the giants lose and carolina wins.

I am an eagles fan but to be beaten to death with carries up the middle, when you lived on the screen pass all season doesn't make sense. If Donavan stays anchored in the pocket as he did yestrerday the Giants will win this one!

The giants don't have much of a passing attack anymore. The Eagles did an excellent job against Peterson yesterday ( the lone exception of that one big play). Eli cannot stand getting smacked around and the Eagles blitzes will be doing that all day. I am afraid of Brandon Jacobs but we all know that he's far from 100%. I think the game will be close but the Eagles have their swagger back. They really feel as though they can beat anybody and everybody. I like the Eagles 21 Giants - 17

Gimme a break all you knuckleheads (and I'm talking to fans of both teams). These are two evenly matched teams and it is going to be a street brawl. All you Eagle fans (I'm one of you) don't forget that this is the same team that tied the Bengals. Success breeds arrogance in Andy Reid's office and that is when things blow up. All you Giants fans don't forget that your team LOST to the BROWNS this year, your QB is soft, your top RB is hurt and your top WR is off the team. If the winning team of this game comes out fairly healthy (that's a big IF), they can start making Super Bowl plans.

klinger what the h3ll are you talking about. yes check their schedual. Seven of the games are against playoff teams and only six people they played had a losing record. That was in the first seven games. The G-Men probably had the hardest schedual in football for the second half of the season. So maybe you should recheck what the h3ll schedual you were looking at.

GIANTS are destiny KILLERS... COWGALS were a team of 'destiny' last year- GIANTS killed it.... PACKERS were going to go back to SB with Farve and 'destiny' at his side- GIANTS killed it.... PATS were going 19-0 as a team of 'destiny'- GIANTS killed it.... EAGALS now come claiming 'destiny' as their ally- GIANTS will kill that noise too.

I think the Eagles fans have the Giants confused with the Mets. And the Eagles confused with some sort of good team.

#18 I respectfully disagree with you. There are morons on both sides of the fence on these boards as there are good posters and faithful fans of their team. This should be a great game. Both teams fear and respect each other and it's proven that a win by either won't come without sacrifice and near perfect play. Which team that is will be determined next weekend. Until then,as a long time Eagles fan, I realize that your New York football Giants are world champs and congrats on that. Best of luck and let's keep it fun. Go Eagles!
