NFL - Sports Rumors

Roger Goodell is encouraged by some of the things suspended Tennesse Titans cornerback Pacman Jones has said over the last few weeks the Dallas Morning News reported. But actions speak louder than words. And for now, it doesn't seem like Jones — who the Cowboys have had discussions about acquiring in a trade — has walked the straight and narrow long enough for Goodell to reinstate him.

"One of the issues I rose with Adam was I want to see a sustained period of time where he conducts himself the way an NFL player should conduct himself," Goodell said after the SMU Athletic Forum luncheon, which was held Wednesday at the Hilton Anatole hotel. "That's why I gave him the opportunity to participate with the Titans immediately after the season. He had a hiccup. He had some things that I didn't think reflect well on the league or himself, so I took that right away from him. At some point, I may reconsider that."

The incident Goodell referred to was a woman alleging that Jones hit her at an Atlanta strip club on Jan. 3. The woman sought an arrest warrant on Jan. 15 and withdrew the request the next day. As a result, Jones had his right to work out at the Titans' facility revoked.

So if anyone doesn't want him to get his job back, all they need to do is find where he is and accuse him of doing something illegal or immoral, whether it's true or not, and he will stay suspended. Then just retract your statement/accusation, but Goodell will still hold it against Adam. I don't care for the guy, but that isn't right to do to anyone..

    Keep the Thug out.
He is not a real man!!! A real man has character, a real man has class, a real man does the right things. Adam Jones deserves nothing.
Offer him the league minimum to play until his behaviors change and listen to him cry.
He is another fine example of the Rich Rodriguez system Michigan will learn all about. The Tom Brady days are over in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Goodell keep up the Great Job!!!

Number 3 that is the dumbest post i have ever seen. Why dont you cry about the nfl being a violent league. I have an idea. Lets throw red shirts on everyone and we can make it a touch football league. Goodell doesn't promote violence in the league. Its a violent sport. If you dont like it, turn off your TV and go play soccer.

Patriots R Cheaters - yeah like giving Bellichick a little fine when he makes 5 mil - ONLY then after the superbowl, Goodell gets more fired up and starts probing around, acting like he really cares. If that was a sucky team like the Lions, they would've been punished greater. But god forbid Goodell's fav team should be punished. "Oh, I didn't know." to quote Bellichick.

Whether you think the fine to BB was too small or not it was the maximum allowed by the rules.
By the way he can take it off his taxes. Go Pats.

Crux - I didn't know that, but I thought it should've been larger and that would be it. None of this dragging it out. Bellichick cheated - okay, let's get over it. I just hate Goodell all of sudden acts like he cares about spying as if all coaches didn't think of doing it one time or another. Well, except for any Lions' coach.

I am getting tired about the inner workings of the NFL. I just want to watch a game have everyone shut-up and assume talent and intelligence win the day.
Of course Detroit is excepted from this. Right, Emp?
