The Minnesota Vikings say they will evaluate their quarterback status at the end of the season according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
But there seems little doubt that they will inquire about the availability of Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb this winter. The problem for Minnesota is that McNabb, 31, would cost at least two first-round draft picks.
If the Vikings decide to return with 24-year-old Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback, they'll need to try to trade for the Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald of Minneapolis, who might also cost a couple of first-round draft picks, or sign at least two other premier wide receivers.

stick with the kid at qb as not saying he will be a hall of famer
but all the good ones had bad 1st years and alot of growing
pains in there 2nd yr. Also don't know much about the qb coach
but i think Chilly needs to go get Tim Salem at CFU as his qb
coach.

Tarvaris Jackson is not even close to ready to be a starting NFL QB. You could give Jackson the entire Cowboys receiving corps and he still wouldn't be able to get the receivers the ball consistently. He only plays well in very short stretches - a quarter in length per game at most. The rest of the time he looks completely overwhelmed, like a deer-in-headlights. Jackson needs a couple more years to catch up to the speed and complexity of the NFL game before he'll be ready to lead a team every week.
The Vikings look like they might be an experienced NFL QB away from being a pretty tough team. Wide Receivers are NOT the problem in Minnesota - QB play is what costs them every single game they lose.
