“VinceWe'll all know soon enough if Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher is attempting job suicide or not. If he starts Kerry Collins(notes) at quarterback again on Sunday when his team takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars, you can expect team owner Bud Adams to pretty much make up his mind to can the coach.

Since the Titans were embarrassingly pummeled 59-0 by the New England Patriots, Adams has been dropping massive hints that he wants quarterback Vince Young(notes) to be in the offensive huddle when the game gets underway this coming weekend, according to the Tennessean. The paper reports that the hints are getting much more direct as the game gets closer.

The 0-6 Titans had a merciful bye week this past weekend but now they've got to get ready to take their medicine again and one suspects that Fisher, who won't commit to either Collins or Young in press conferences so far, will get with the program and send Young out there to at least satisfy the 86-year-old Adams. And why not? Nothing else is working.

could be Fisher needs to hire Greg Davis as O.C. I think Fishers ego got in the way of common sense.

We Titans fans need to know now if Vince can play well enough to be the QB of the future. If not, we can begin now, hopefully, to look to finding and QB for the 2010 season. I am one of those that thinks Fisher's time with the Titans should be over. I am just ready for something different especially a team with an emphasis on the offense with REAL Wide Receivers. We have none now.

Gooo Vince! Vince would have done alot better had TN kept Steve McNair and let him shadow him for a year instead of throwing him to the wolves.

Maybe Fisher will commit job suicide, it might be best for all of us Titans fans. If we could get an elite coach, then that would be better than getting the number 1 pick overall next year. If Fisher is out, then maybe the Titans can go for Shanahan or Cowler.

QB is not the problem. Fisher is right. They don't need a Jerry Jones making coaching decisions. VY is not the guy. The team has collapsed in all phases of the game. Fisher can pull them up his way- unless he gets pushed around by an owner.

lol thetoff, Fisher isn't an elite coach? really? Most teams would give anything for Fisher. Shanahan got canned from the Broncos, who routinely play some of the weakest teams in the NFL, for doing a poor job. The Titans almost beat the Steelers, the Super Bowl Champs, and they lost their best defensive player. Wake up its not Fishers fault they suck. They got no QB, no NT. I'm a longhorn fan for life but everyone knew VY was only gonna be a college QB.

The owner is only doing this to sell jerseys. No on is buying Collins jerseys. He wants to make money. Everyone knows young is an overpriced crybaby that will be known for being another awesome college player that couldn't make the transistion to the NFL. GO EAGLES!!

maybe the 86 year old Adams should coach the team, Fisher is an elite coach and has been for years. Compare records of Cowher, Shanahan and Fisher. Did anyone want to can Fisher last year at 13 and 3?

I'm not a big fan of the Titans but I still think Fisher is a good coach. While I don't think Collins has done anything to deserve benching at 0-6 in the season so far its time to start thinking about what you need to do to make this team better for next year. With that in mind YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT IF YOUNG IS THE GUY OR NOT!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think he is personally but you have nothing to loose (except more games) by giving him a shot.Either way I feel for you Titans fans I'm a Cowboys fan and I know what its like to be in search of a starting QB for years, but hang on there may be another undrafted free agent QB out there for you too.

Fisher let his ego get in the way. Every week he says "Collins gives us the best chance to win" The problem is COACH your not gving Collins a chance to give us a chance. The play calling is terrible. We call plays like Collins is a 23 year old mobile stud. If a team blitz, Collins just close his eyes and heave it out there.
Fisher's head on a burning stick. Stop living in the past with this guy. His time is over. Whether Vince is the answer or not by coming out with Collins every week when the season is clearly over your embarrassing your second string QB(Vince) The 59-0 blowout should have done it.
Fisher face just looking at it is becoming very disturbing.

Injuries have killed the titans. Their defense was the reason they were winning games. Even last year the titans offense just was an average unit. The defense held teams in almost a dominating fashion.
As you saw earlier injuries in the secondary. no pash rush due to the absence of Albert Haynesworth has created a surprisingly weak defensive team.
Defense was the Titans calling card. The absence of D Coordinator on top of all this has added up to this miserable record.
Vince young should be inserted however He won't be a cure all because recievers and tight end are dropping balls.
For all those saying that it's not the QB.
Kerry Collins was good for not making turnovers. This year he is a turnover machine!

The problem is Bud Adams. GM Mike Reinfeldt and Fisher can't spend the money w/o Adams blessing. TN is 13million under the salary cap this yr, and have several players heading into the last yr of their contracts. Kyle VandenBosch, Javon Kearse, Keith Bulluck, Nick Harper, Tony Brown, Stephen Tulloch and Vincent Fuller are all starters that will be FAs in 2010. Expect Tulloch and Fuller to return and the rest to walk. Lendale White, Alge Crumpler, Kevin Mawae, and Ken Amato will probably be gone as well.
Successful teams build from a mix of the draft and free agent signings. The only reason the Titans are good is if they get steals in the draft i.e. 7th round pick Cortland Finnegan, CJ, Bo Scaife, and our 6th? round picks in Michael Roos and David Stewart and Fisher molds a team out of them. There isn't a coach in the league that has more wins with less talent than Fisher. Think about it, Albert Haynesworth (also a draft pick) Finnegan, and CJ are the only superstars on a team that finished best in the league. Compare this to Dallas or San Diego who has more talent sitting on the sidelines as backups.
When adams joins his wife, look for the Titans to be a major force every year, like the Pats/Colts, that is if he doesn't relieve Fisher of his duties first.

Jeff Fisher believed Kerry Collins gave the Titans the best chance of winning it all this year. Sadly, that has not happened. It is time to see what Vince Young can do. Lets him start for the rest of the year. If he can't produce, then its dfaft a new quarterback next year, or sign a good free agent. Thats the only choice here!

I'm a Titans fan and a Longhorn fan. I have high hopes for Vince Young.
That being said, perhaps the coach knows best. Perhaps he sees what Young has or doesn't have and perhaps he sees what appears to be a futile attempt to put a player in a bad position.
Perhaps Vince Young is actually unable to elevate his game to work in the NFL and Jeff Fisher actually knows this?
This team needs to rally around whatever is left for this season and the coaches need to sort through and figure out who actually has the talent and the heart to play in the NFL. Consider this a year long training camp...these players, and for what it's worth, these coaches...are playing for their jobs.

If you think the Titans are bad now just wait and see how they are without Fisher. The Titans have more salary cap room then just about any team in the NFL but refuse to go out and sign a top notch receiver or someone to replace Haynesworth. Fisher is not the problem, Bud is plain and simple. Bud wanted Vince Young and from I have heard Fisher wanted Leinert or Cutler. Jay Cutler is from Nashville and I know inside sources who said he wanted to come back and play for the Titans this offseason. Bud had a chance to make up for the poor draft decision and go after Cutler but his man crush for Vince prevented any attempts. Also, face it, Collins is not that great, never has been, last year was his best season ever and the Titans should have let the old fart go and gone after Cutler. Bottom line, the Titans are really bad but without Fisher they will be hands down the worst team in the NFL.

In this league if you're not a playoff contender then your season HAS be all about figuring out how you could be. Young may not give us the best chance to win right now, but at this point winning right now doesn't really matter. What we need to find out is who's going to be the QB in 2010, then turn our attention to the other pressing issues. For instance, what good is a bend-don't-break defensive philosophy if the defense is constantly breaking. You know, small stuff like that...

Get Rid of Jeff Fischer he is overated as a coach, over conservative and Over Cautious. McNair and Eddie George with a lil luck got him to the SB in 99.VY is a play ,maker and can win games.Jeffs Coaching style and his system are holding him back.he doesnt think outside the box and that is whats hurting them.
