On the eve of the NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans made a big move for their future, locking up left tackle Michael Roos with a six-year, $43-million contract extension.
Roos becomes the NFL's third highest-paid tackle, according to his agent, Cameron Foster. The contract includes $15 million in guarantees, with $4 million in a roster bonus this coming season. Roos could also earn $1.5 million in Pro Bowl escalators attached to the deal.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Roos, a second-round draft pick by the Titans in 2005 out of Eastern Washington, has started 48 consecutive games. His contract was scheduled to expire after the 2008 season. The Titans and Foster began negotiating last month and hammered out the final details this week.
