The Cleveland Browns added another prime target for newly re-signed quarterback Derek Anderson, agreeing with former Patriot receiver Donte' Stallworth on a seven-year contract.

Last season with New England, the six-year veteran had 46 receptions for 697 yards and three touchdowns. He had a career-high 70 receptions and 945 yards with New Orleans in 2005.

"Donte' will be the major addition to our offense this year," Browns GM and senior vice president Phil Savage said. "He will bring legitimate speed, quickness, and playmaking ability to the receiving corps and add a different dimension to the skill players we already have in place."

Is it me? Or is this the 2nd year in a row that the Browns are the most aggressive team in terms of upgrading team weaknessess? Way to go Phil Savage! Before you, maintaining status quo in an under-talented team was the norm.

With Stallworth taking some pressure of Braylon and Winslow, and a new Nose Tackle and Defensive end, the Browns have just as good a chance as anyone in '09, even if they have no first day draft picks :)

Nice addition to the receiving corps. This will take away any double-teaming on Edwards and/or Winslow in crucial situations and spread out the defenses. With all the offensive signings I'm thinking that Cleveland will use draft picks, the few that they have, to get defensive players.
Or do they just plan on beating teams 52-49 every game?

Not to mention this year's draft class is extremely weak this year. A bunch of good players but very few elite players in this year's draft. Great job Brownies maybe this year we can break thru and beat those redneck, toothless, trailer park,Nascar loving Steelers.

This is a great move, DA will have plenty of options and teams can not stack the line to stop Lewis, and can not double up on K2 and Braylon. It also will free up J J to be a situational 3rd down specialist along the lines of former Browns WR Brian Brennan or even Wes Welker of the Patriots. Now turn attention to the DBs and this team is complete. Free Agency is our draft in 2008! GO BROWNS!

I'm quite pleased with the Browns free agent moves. All we need now is one more defensive end (Jason Taylor?) and a pass rushing linebacker.

Stallworth is a good receiver when he is healthy. The problem is that he gets hurt too often.

well in Philly he kept getting hurt for us so we got rid of him. Then he didnt even play enough minutes in New England to get injured. So if Browns intend on having Stallworth play alot of minutes then i hope you Browns fans are ready to see him on IR

This is why Cleveland is notorious for losing. Stallworth isn't good enough to play in the Arena league. What a waste, first Anderson now this chump. No one is running the browns, the front office needs to go away...just go away! Do they look at these players long history? Ever? Sorry to confuse them. The answer is NO.
