Rumors continue to swirl around Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson at the NFL combine in Indianapolis. The question is, will those swirling rumors sweep him out of Cleveland and drop him, say, in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers?
According to the Tampa Tribune, the Bucs aren't ready to just hand the starting quarterback job to Luke McCown. So the brass in Tampa is considering free agents like Byron Leftwich, J.P. Losman and Patrick Ramsey.
The idea of trading for Anderson is picking up speed in Tampa, however. Anderson has a strong arm and it appears the Bucs think he could return to an elite status among NFL quarterbacks with a little work and a lot of coaching. Besides, it appears the Browns are willing to let Anderson go for as little as a third round draft choice.
