Rosenhaus claims five teams still interested in Burress

Five NFL teams are still interested in acquiring the services of wide receiver Plaxico Burress (notes) according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and Profootballtalk.com.

According Rosenhaus, via his Twitter account, Burress now has five NFL teams interested in him. And that list, according to Rosenhaus, could become even longer soon, Profootballtalk.com reported.

"There are now 5 teams interested in Plaxico," Rosenhaus wrote. "I expect more teams to enter the mix over the next few weeks as well."

It's believed that the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears are among the potential destinations for Burress.

He's a decent pickup. Just take his gun away from him. The man is dangerous with a gun. Just like Dick Cheney shouldn't go hunting with friends, Plax shouldn't shove a glock down his sweat pants.
I hope the raiders pick him up. Then we can have a guy who got beat down at a club and one that shot himself in the leg. The double threat.

He'll go to Tampa. Out of the three, Florida is the only state where carrying a gun is legal. New York and Chicage only crooks can carry guns.Of course it's illegal to fire it in a night club.We don't have laws against being stupid. Tank Johnson moved to Texas and he's no longer a story. Why , cause everyone carrys a gun, legally, same as Florida. The crime rate has dropped significantly since we got our carry law. OH yeah Plaxico we use something called a holster so we don't drop the gun and blow off our big toe. Besides, any pistol that costs more than fifty bucks has safeties that won't let it fire when dropped. Buy a Smith and Wesson next time, dumb ass.

if the commish really wants to start cleaning up image of nfl...start suspending all these thugs that think they are above the law...won't stop all of them from doing this stuff, but think a good number would reconsider if their fat pay checks and lavish life styles are on the line...stallworth was a good start, buy MUCH more can be done...

Ok patriothater. I went back and slowly read "joe cool's" statement and realized he could be attempting to be funny. However,..............he failed. I stand by my original statements until I'm proven wrong. BTW, if there is a joke in his statements, I don't get it. I've heard Plax in many interviews. Although he's no scholar(present day situation noted), he doesn't sound like that. I can't believe the bravery of some people behind the safety of their keyboard. Isn't the internet wonderful?

Just how many people that post comments on yahoo sports topics, do you think would be in a position to do anything productive, if they had done the same thing Burress had done with his little gangster move? I believe the answer would be next to none. Goodell should remain consistent in dealing with thugs like he has, and send Burress packing!

See Plaxico is trying to be smart by waiting this court date out and thinking he can get a year salary from someone. then his time a cometh and he does his court date ..then he figures a month or two in the hole after the season. then he returns again for another payday the following year.man just get rid of him once and for all Goodell..Ban his a...s...s. Why sign a guy for 1/2 a season? He'll be lucky to play 8 games this year. I hope Goodell makes him an example for all of the THUG/football players. Clean up your act-Idiots. I am a die-hard Bears fan. But I don't want to win with that guy or lower my standards for a few W's. Not that bad. Plax can f*** off and go to jail. Then, when he gets out of the slammer, Goodell can suspend him. Hopefully, nobody signs this cancer. Anybody who sports Bears colors and wants this guy needs to turn in their playbook. Forever.
