Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin apparently had some interest in going after Michael Vick(notes) when he was still a free agent to back up Ben Roethlisberger(notes). But Tomlin decided not to go after Vick when the NFL said Vick could play again because he supposedly didn't want to put any undue pressure on his already troubled quarterback, according to ProFootballTalk.
Roethlisberger currently has a civil suit against him by a woman who claims that he raped her in a Lake Tahoe hotel/casino. "Given some of the things that my quarterback was going through, I didn't think it was the appropriate time to add another quarterback to the mix," Tomlin apparently said. "I didn't want to do anything that was less than supportive to Ben."
How ‘bout that? Bringing in Vick would have hurt Big Ben's feelings. He's such a sensitive guy.
