Terrell Owens

The Dallas Cowboys ran 58 offensive plays against the Redskins. Twenty featured Terrell Owens. Quarterback Tony Romo threw 18 passes toward Owens, and the star receiver had two rushing attempts for 11 yards. Still, Owens thought he didn't get the ball enough in the Cowboys' loss.

"I would say no. I'm a competitor, and I want the ball," said Owens, who had seven catches for 71 yards. He also scored on a 10-yard pass in the third quarter that tied the score, 17-17. Everybody recognized that I wasn't really getting the ball in the first half," Owens said. "I'm pretty sure everybody watching the game recognized it, people in the stands recognized it. I think my team recognized it. I didn't quit. I kept fighting and trying to keep running my routes and trying to get open."

Owens had just two catches last week against Green Bay. Perhaps that's why the Cowboys tried to get Owens involved early. But Redskins cornerbacks Shawn Springs and Carlos Rogers deserve credit for blanket coverage. Springs joked last week that Terrell "Usain Bolt" Owens better be ready. Springs was. He knocked the ball away from Owens on a third-and-3 play in the second quarter. He also smothered Owens on the Cowboys' next possession as the offense went three-and-out.

Springs thought the Cowboys tried to force the ball to Owens too much.

"I was shocked, but they have that confidence," Springs said. "T.O. believes no one can cover him. I believe I can cover him. But our D-line and everybody did a good job."

Oh I'm so excited I get to be number ??.......T O may run his mouth a little to much, but who do you want in the huddle the guy that says I think I can get open or the guy with the confidence to say they can't cover me I will be open,I'll take the loud mouth......media knows they can get him to him to say to much by just keeping the microphone in his face.
Had he said I would have liked to have seen the ball more in the first half and walked away, this article would not have been written....the early loss just may be a blessing

Trey don't talk reckless! What is there to be depressed about? We lost to a divisional rival in a game that our coaching staff lost for us...all the vanilla play calling, no run establishment and way too many balls thrown to TO for no gain. The Boys deserved to lose that game and it might be just what the doctor ordered for all the swollen heads. And not to mention we only lost by 2 points!
I really don't see the big deal...

this team is slowly losing its discipline that was instilled during the Bill Parcells' regime. You can actually see it slowly going away from the day Parcells' left to 1-1/4 seasons under the coach Phillips era.

Big Jim...I agree with your post. I would take Owens any day over some nukka who has no heart...it isn't like we got smashed...it was 2 effing points...it is not like we played like the Cards...and nothing happened yesterday that can't be fixed.

Owens dropped a touchdown pass....he is a great reciever, but man he drops alot of passes that hit him in his hands. That is why his camplaints are annoying. Those 17 targets were not all bad passes, he has bad hands. R. Moss seperates himself from Owens in that aspect of being a true handed reciever.

Man i hate to say this but the problem is the defense, they dont have the same aggresiveness that i see in other teams its like they are a little laid back or something i just dont see the pressure on the qb so they have to do something now or they wont make it anywhere.

The Cowgirls got spanked. TO is crying again and Jerry Jones is pacing the sidelines. What a beautiful weekend. The best team in the NFL? NOT! The best team in the NFC? NOT! The best team in the NFC East? NOT! They may have talent, but they still lack backbone. They kept getting punched in the mouth and decided not to get back up. Barber - the "Beast" - unstoppable - 26 yards? Come on big blue fans, admit it, you have a lot of talent but no team. Everyone wants to be the superstar. Zorn just took a team with players of less talent - based on what the media says - and controlled you with an East Coast version of the West Coast offense. You weren't steam-rolled by superior athletes, you were beaten by a better TEAM! Hail to the Redskins!

Like I said it is better to improve the kinks early vs trying to adjust later on in the season. The boys looked Uninspired and looking ahead not to give anything more to the giants who had a bye week. The boys brought their C game against a C team. It's hard to bring out all of your gameplan against an opponent who might not even make the playoffs. It's better to have lost and take the undefeated pressure off early.

REDSKINS ALL THE WAY!! YEAH! Those cowgirls p***ys never had a chance. We dominated the entire game. We even gave you that last touchdown AND a chance to recover the ball on that last play, BUT Cowgirls can't catch. LONG LIVE THE SKINS!!

K C Did you get beat up last night? You have to have for talking all that nonsense...The Boys got spanked? They keep getting punched in the mouth? Dude you are an idiot...someone needs to make sure they fix you so you don't reproduce and clog the world with mini-morons. Steam rolled? WOW dude...2 points is steam rolled? We score on you guys with less than 3 minutes to bring us within one possession and we were beaten by superior athletes?
Skins...please do celebrate it was a great win...but KC is a crackhead...who looks ready to OD on his own stupidity.

Here we go... All the Dallas fans trying to minimize the loss. "It's only 2 points..." Yeah, right. Remember, 2 of the Skins field goals were the result of TD's being called back on penalities (Portis and Randle El both had TD's called back) and the last drive was a gimme. The Skins were in prevent defense just trying to kill the clock. So, the score could have easily been 34-17. Dallas was outplayed all day. The guys on NBC said it best last night... Campbell outplayed Romo, Portis outplayed Barber, Moss outplayed Owens.... Your "great" running back Barber only managed 26 yds on the ground, both Portis AND Betts had more yards!!! I love the fact that we closed out the last visit to Texas Stadium with a big win!!! GO SKINS!!!! HAIL!!!!

Wat it is CB fans, Tough pill to swallow I must say its nothing like losing to a division rival at home. But if the lose was goin to come we all knew it was gonna be somebody in the division to hand it to us and I agree this lose could be a lil drop kick to reality we needed. Hats off to S.Springs he had a masterpiece of a game you can't play TO any other way. Sam Hurd you could have and should have been my hero but we shouldn't have been in that position can't blame you. No excuses good game skins.

Aw Lawd...there is no way I am going to be able to sit here and participate in Dallas discussions today...not with idiots like KC and Tony C around...you two are like the retards of all trades and masters of your own misguided universes...if beating the Cowboys by two points after Dallas clearly was doing all they could to lose is dominating the game then I am going to find a bomb shelter and stack that baby with all that I need to survive the next 20 years with no sunlight...the world is coming to an end. Sometimes just when I think I am being too hard on people, people like you two Momos show up and I am reminded why I should be thankful that my parents are not related and that I made it to adulthood with all my teeth.

Hey KC I closely read your post and clearly U are clueless about the Dallas cowboys. U said everyone wants to be the superstar? Please enlighten me on that..... Besides T.O. who DOES enjoy his personal success and loves the attention who on this team wants to be the...SUPERSTAR? Is it anyone on the leauges best offensive line...NO, Is it Witten,Barber,Crayton,F.Jones,Hurd,Austin???Newman,Henry,Tank,James,Thomas, OHH it was be Demarcus Ware!!! C'mon dude this teams core of great players are totally unselfish players. Oh yeah hey KC Barber only had 8 carries my friend, Felix 0 carries, so that's an invalid point you made, bad offensive playcalling in that game. But hate now KC while the gettin is good because Garrett will not make that mistake again!!!!!!!!!!!
