NFL - Sports Rumors

Presented with the chance to retrace their path to Super Bowl history, the Baltimore Ravens made reservations Sunday for Nashville, Tenn., and the second round of the NFL playoffs.

They throttled quarterback Chad Pennington and the Miami Dolphins in a 27-9 victory to set up a date with the No.1-seeded Tennessee Titans at LP Field at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

When the Ravens won the Super Bowl after the 2000 season, it was as a wild-card entry in the AFC playoffs. Their second-round opponent that winter was the top-seeded Titans in what was then Adelphia Coliseum.

They banished the Titans in a 24-10 upset and went on to win the Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla., site of this year's Super Bowl.

Is this deja vu?

"I think so," said Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan. "We'll see. That's the beauty of next week. We get to play the game. And we're looking forward to it."

Of all the wild card teams, the Ravens are the team nobody wanted to face. Like the Eagles, they garnered momentum as the season was ending. Baltimore is peaking at the right moment. Their game against the Titans will most likely be a defensive slug-fest! Too close to call but I will pick the Ravens to upset the Titans. Go Lakers!!!!!!

dissagree with #2and #3 yes ravens are the best wild card team, will be good defensive game but titans have the better offense, and not impresed with flaco, only thing he realy did is not turn the ball over, will give him that.
Defitnatly not anice job by ravens, turnovers give aways not takeaways, they will have to play alot betterthen that to beat titans onboth sides of the ball.be realistic before you say im wrong.not a fan of either team just my opion on what i seen.

I think the Titans have it... they have a much better offense then Miami, and a much better defense.

Unfortunately, the Ravens hadn't discovered McClain's, their diamond in the rough, full potential. With having a great two headed running attack and even better defense. These two teams almost look identical. This will be another great playoff game, I just hope the rookie QB and coach tandem fail to show their "rookieness".

Titans took care of the ravens during the reg season in Baltimore. The ll def take care of them at LP Field. Its time for the rookie to come out and be exposed in Flacco.

The Dolphins turned the ball over too many times. A team can't win when they make that many mistakes. Chad Pennington seemed too flat. he launched some ill advised bombs! Maybe next year for the fish

This game should be a good one. Ravens have the momentum, Titans have the balance.
Offense: Advantage Titans, Although Ravens have an offense that actually outscores their defense this year.
Defense: Advantage Ravens, Only Pittsburgh's D can compare in terms of ferocity.
QB: Advantage Titans but not by much. Stats are equal.

Kerry Collins cant beat the Ravens twice in the same season...titans wont be able to run the ball, ed reed will score ANOTHER td, and the Ravens win 16-10

It may be "deja vu" but this is not the same Titans team as the 2000 no. 1 defense Titans. This year we are only no. 7. The key is we have a stronger offensive line, deffensive line, and running backs. Plus our offense will respect Reed and Lewis and there is no Billicheck(a thorn in the Titans side). With only average WR's surely Collins will not be throwing wild passes as Pennington did yesterday. Ravens won the 2000 game with two turnovers(one a blocked Del Greco kick) returned for TD's in the fouth quarter. My bet is that Titans will win the turnover battle with Hope, Griffin, Harper, and Finnegan this year. What is even better is the NFL's top returner in 2008 is Titan Chris Carr. One more thing, -- this year Mason is again on the losing side but he just happens to wear a Ravens uniform . Will I worry that Titans let me down? Yes, but, if they execute and avoid turnovers, Titans definitely can win. GO TITANS!

Too bad everyone who thinks the titans have the better offense, don't realize that the ravens rank higher than the titans in total offense and points scored.

The Titans have a great def. line, a good off. line, make no mistake this game will be won in the trenches.Balt. has good lines on both sides of the ball.Flacco is their weak link. The best playoff game of the season will be this game. Titans 20 Balt. 17

the ravens will win, kerry collins will be exposed since the running game will not be effective. albert haynesworth will be playing hurt and our offense has grown since the last meeting. when we first played the titans it was when flacco was playing like a true rookie (not looking off the secondary and throwing bad passes) plus he had not been giving the whole offense, and marc clayton hadnt emerged as a deep threat. the ravens are averaging 28 points a game, Ed reed is playing like a HOF saftey. Ravens win by 7.. 17-10. late INT by kerry collins seals it and afterward chris johnson will say it is bogus that they lost because he played better

Tennessee & Pittsburgh are done!!!! And what about that Ravens castoff Harrison winning the defencive MVP?????????? what a joke , every football follower and player with any knowledge of the game knows ED REED is by far the best player in the league as far as defence goes , he's a big game playmaker and game changer above and beyond any player in the league!!!!!!!! Just more evidence that the Steelers are the leagues babydolls!!!
