The Oakland Raiders have tossed aside head coach Tom Cable, but the team won't likely be without a new coach for very long.

A source told the San Francisco Chronicle that team owner Al Davis will name offensive coordinator Hue Jackson to the position.

Raiders senior executive John Herrera wouldn't confirm that for the Chronicle, though. "We have not talked to anybody yet," Herrera said, according to the paper. "Nothing has been done."

The 45-year-old Jackson has been given permission by the Raiders to talk to the San Francisco 49ers about their head-coaching position, the Chronicle notes, also pointing out that Jackson helped the Raiders take their year-end point total from 197 in 2009 to 410 in 2010.
