Yes, loyal members of the Raider Nation, it can get worse. There are those in the Bay Area beginning to wonder out loud if this is the worst team in the storied history of the Silver and Black?

Seriously, this might be the darkest hour in Raiders history. The team was 2-12 in 1961, 1-13 in '62, and 2-14 two seasons ago. The Raiders are 2-6 now and could win another game or two. But when you put it all together, this might be the Raiders' all-time low, because hope does not seem to loom on the horizon. Consider:

• The Raiders spent a ton of money in the offseason for some legitimate (they believed) talent, none of which has delivered.

• They came into the season with a young but hugely talented and massively up-sided quarterback, who looked as shaky as a quarterback can look Sunday.

• The organization is in shambles, with Davis melting down, unable to properly hire or fire a coach and fresh out of solutions to any of the team's problems.

• Assuming the Raiders continue their nosedive, they will secure a high draft pick that will cost them a fortune, which, along with what they're paying JaMarcus Russell and Darren McFadden, will put them in a deep red-ink hole and ruin their chances to rebuild the team.

• At season's end, Davis again will roll the desperation dice on a coach, opting for another cheap-date longshot. Davis is getting older but there's no evidence he's getting wiser.

I never left a Raider game before the final whistle, but Sunday I couldn't take it anymore and left at halftime. It was painful to watch.

The fans of Oakland just needs to bide their time, eventually the tide will turn and the Davis Regime will ultimately come to an end like the Millen Era

Its a league conspiracy to keep the Raiders down, right Al? Why don't one of you face, painted, Star Wars character-looking freaks take this guy out so the team can have a real owner running the shots?

As a life long raiders fan, I have to say that it is just getting harder and harder to cheer for my team. The loses I can take. But watching Al Davis (aka the Crypt Keeper) slowly destroy any hope of a future for this team year after year is hard to stomach.

Move the team back to LA, and hope that a street-gang member takes Davis out. His death is about the only hope that team has.

I though that the Art Shell II Offense was bad, but last Sunday they made the Art Shell II Offense look like the greatest show on turf (just kidding, but it was bad).
NEP-ster, you are right we get a new President today and the long national nightmare will start to be over. Now for Al Davis, the nightmare continues...
