Starting New England Patriots offensive lineman Nicholas Kaczur was arrested in April on a charge of illegal possession of prescription painkillers and then secretly cooperated with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration in a sting operation that resulted in the indictment of his alleged drug supplier, according to a lawyer and two people briefed on the investigation the Boston Globe reported.

Kaczur — a 28-year-old, 315-pound offensive tackle — wore a hidden recording device during three different drug transactions in May at gas stations in Foxborough and North Attleborough and a supermarket parking lot in Sharon, according to the lawyer, the two people, and federal court documents. At each of the three transactions, Kaczur paid $3,900 in cash to buy 100 OxyContin pills, a potent prescription pain reliever. Federal agents arrested the alleged dealer, Daniel Ekasala, moments after the third transaction with Kaczur, said Ekasala's lawyer. He was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday on three counts of possession of oxycodone (the main ingredient in the prescription drug OxyContin) with intent to distribute. He is due to be arraigned today in federal court.

Kaczur, approached Tuesday afternoon by a Globe reporter as he stood on the front porch of his Attleboro home, denied participating in a DEA investigation or buying drugs. He also said he was not familiar with Ekasala.

"I don't know what you're talking about, bro," Kaczur said repeatedly, in response to questions about the investigation. "I don't know where this is coming from. I don't know what you are talking about."

snitches get stitches. wtf are the reporters doing asking him to blab? im sure they're concerned for his well being.
i'm leaning towards some communism with our out of control media. there are stupid questions, therefore we should be allowed to punch all media types in the mouth as soon as a stupid question is asked. the police should then be allowed to arrest the media type and subject them to further torture.

Hey I'm all for legalizing all drugs, if a person wants to get messed up on a substance let him. Until that happens though, it's illegal, and by taking them, selling them, transporting them, you run the risk of getting caught. Kaczur ratted this guy out, wore a wire, whatever, he was doing what everyone does, watching out for #1. That dealer would have sold Kaczur out in a minute if it meant saving his own tuchas. What was Kaczur doing with illegal Oxies though? The med staff for the Pats could have prescribed him as much as he wanted, he is a footballer, he is most likely in alot of pain.

Patrick - I'm not so sure the med staff for N.E. would prescribe him Oxycontin (as much as he wanted) A lesser painkiller in buckets perhaps! lol

This is just another strike in a long line of NFL players who are "using and abusing". Goddell will have a punishment that is way to soft for someone who was arrested, confessed and turned "dirty rat" for using ILLEGAL pills. Can anyone say "Mitchell Report"!?

Gary, the reason that I call him a rat is the fact that he did not come clean and turn this guy in. He only cooperated after being raided by the DEA. So lets not pin the "hero's medal" on his chest just yet. He is the one who was buying those drugs from tha scumbag. The only reason that I call him a "dirty rat" is the fact that he turned on someone in order to save himself. Drug dealers only have a job becauseIDIOTS like Kaczur buy the pills and as long as we just target the dealers and not the junkies, we will lose the fight.

Dan You need to do some research before you talk about what is and isn't a real drug. Oxycontin is basically a synthetic heroin. Google it and read about it. I have had friends go down the tubes because of it. If it wasnt a real drug why do you think he was paying 39 dollars a pill for it!?!?!
