The New England Patriots met with free-agent linebacker Zach Thomas at Gillette Stadium today. The meeting went well enough that the Patriots made an undisclosed offer to Thomas.

The NFL Network's Adam Schefter first reported the offer to Thomas.

The 34-year-old Thomas has played his entire 12-year career with Miami. A seven-time Pro Bowler, he was limited to just five games last season due to concussions and migraines

should be good, but I worry about health... we need healthy linebackers badly. Maybe we could get Taylor as well?

Another washed up linebacker, trying to taste victory before he turns his brains into pudding. Good call Pats. Zack, it's over, you'll never make it through the pre-season.

    # 9, Seau is 38, not 45. And Seau's character is good.

Of course they'd make an offer to this geezer---the Patriots just aren't the patriots unless they're cheating and/or have old LBs.

get out your depends because this already geriatric defense is getting another patient. Between Bruschi having strokes and Zach having migraines, the patsies are going to have to hire nurses instead of trainers. Better have some nitrates ready for Billi when that axe comes down on his cheating. Fools about to have a heart attack.

Why go to a team that can't win without cheating. Zach is a better person than that I thought.

Just what the Patriots need... another aging LB. Isn't it bad enough that Seau and Bruschi were exposed, as such, in the Super Bowl?

What are the Patriots doing they need to get younger on defense not bring more veterans to let them down in the postseason. On a side note Belichick offered half an apology for the distractions to the league by Spygate. He still hasn't admitted any wrongdoing. Honestly I think the NFL should learn from this fiasco tighten up security and forget the issue. This Specter person who clearly was elected by his constituents to worry about sports is making a huge difference as congressman. BTW Specter thanks for your absolute committment to the government the people appreciate your investigation into the NFL

you all are so stupid zack thomas has reached a 100 tackles his entire career and the only reason he didn't last year is because of the car crash and #20 he is not injury prone tell me another time he's been injured for the majority of the season? hes got another 3 seasons in him and with zack thomas, bruschi, vrabel, seau (if he comes back), adalius thomas, and colvin switching around at linebacker theyll be the besti n the league

I'd say the Patriots could use another linebacker at the end of his career. The ones that played in the Super Bowl didn't do much of anything.
