Wide receiver Steve Smith has been with the Carolina Panthers since 2001 when he was drafted in the third round. But he apparently would like to finally move on, despite having two years and close to $15 million left on his contract. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that he wants his destination to be the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, or Baltimore Ravens.
The 32-year-old three-time Pro Bowler is so unhappy, the paper reports, that he's cleaned out his locker, put his house up for sale, and told his bosses that he wants to join one of the aforementioned trio of teams.
The Chargers are in a "monitoring and wait-and-see" mode with Smith, who has 8,884 receiving yards and 52 receiving touchdowns with the Panthers, the paper notes.Don't forget to follow Scoop du Jour on Twitter or Facebook.
