Packers considering Michael Vick

“MichaelEx-con Michael Vick(notes) may end up filling the spot Brett Favre(notes) once filled. The Green Bay Packers organization is apparently doing lots on research on Vick and has had a bunch of internal conversations about what it would take to sign him, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The 29-year-old Vick is supposedly getting interest from somewhere though at least 20 NFL teams have said he won't be on their roster this season. The Packers won't say that and Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy went so far as to say that he didn't see anything happening there.

But those internal discussions are apparently still going on and could still go somewhere. You never know.

Vick needs to come to Detroit, we are used to felons and plus he could really help the team. And for some reason ex-cons are more famous in Detroit.

David, they're not doing anything to Rodgers. Aaron knows that he is the starter, and this is hardly something to light a fire under him.. think of the Steelers with Antwaan Randle El..

One more good reason for Favre to distance himself from the Packers in the NFL afterlife.

If the Packers sign Vick and he loses a game, they should hang him up and beat him like he did his losing dogs.

This is total BS!!!! I seriously hope it's just rumors. Aaron Rodgers deserves better than this. If Green Bay wants to sign somebody how about a better RB?

Sign him Packers!! If Rogers gets hurt, we need a decent backup who has some solid experience! It would be crazy seeing Vick in green and gold, but I think it could be a good thing!

I think it would be a very good move. Rodgers is the guy and he knows that. but man a Phenom Talent cannot be overlooked. get em in. get em back in shape. work him into the system somehow. He will be worth something to someone down the road.

I would stop watching my fav team if they do sign him and pickit every home game. Vick is a cold hearted killer who should have gotten the death penalty for what he did.

Rogers has no need to worry. Vick would make a much better back-up QB than Brian or Matt because of his past NFL experience but he wont be taking Aaron's position any time soon. This would also allow Vick time to get reacquainted with the game..

First of all. The Packers signing Vick has no effect on Rodgers, considering he was second in the league last year in yardage next to Brees. You've either got to be suffering for some type of mental condition if you think the Packers would replace Rodgers with Vick (Who hasn't been on the field in two years). They would be signing him as a back up QB/WR/RB/KR/PR. The guy is a play maker and he would give us a better shot than Brohm or Flynn if Rodgers ever went down.

Forget the haters, even if he don't play in the NFL, there is a $1.5 million contract waiting for him in the other league. That's still more than half these haters will make in their whole lives. And let's face it these same haters will be lining up to watch him on Sundays or whenever or wherever he plays. So protest all you want, Mike Vick will be playing football for money soon.

To be politically correct every team will say "they are considering" - but no one will sign Vic.
