NFL - Sports Rumors

Terrell Owens(notes) has been good for business when it comes to the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo News reported last week that the Bills have sold 53,048 season tickets, which despite the sharp economic downturn puts them on pace to match last season's total of 56,011. Last year's total ranked second in team history, behind 1992, when they sold 57,132.

First! And who cares, there is no reason to think that owens himself is selling more tix. The bills are a 3rd place team at best.

Owens will obviously stretch the field and open up more running lanes for Lynch. The Bills won't make the playoffs, but they will score points and will possibly sweep the lowly Jets who readers of these posts know will go 5-11 and finish fourth this year.

Hopefully, this will be the biggest story about Terrible Owens now that he's been banished to Siberia (i.e., Buffalo).

Im a Big Cowboy fan, and will say T.O. wasnt the problem in big "D". Romo went down and everything fell apart for one, and the D was poor at best. Owens will have a good year with the Bills. They will make the playoffs while the Cowboys look for another excuse why they are so bad. They need to look no further than there coaching staff!!!!!

his next product endorsement is the all new...i confess-he did it....a fabulous new 'system' where all the results of your behavior are blamed on others with absolutely no guilt from the 'lie to yourself' ez blame motizer.

The only meaningful things sportswise with Terrell Owens are his own stats, how teams did when he played for them, how they fared after he left, and whether he is a good citizen. Terrell having passed all these tests, the rest is more like some dating game nonsense. You either like his personality and find him entertaining or you don't like his personality and find him annoying. You either took the time to understand his formative year environment, or you dismiss that as irrelevant. Whatever, to his delight, this whole media commentator attack has generated exactly what has been his mindset since childhood----to be somebody instead of a nobody. I think we would be hard put to find anyone who has done more to pull himself up by his own boot straps than Terrell Owens. Funny, we say this kind of self focus and self help is good, then we abruptly decide at some point he is too selfish. Perspective is everything.

everone is buying season ticks so they can see T.O. freak out at Trent Edwards when things go south. Trent will be curled up in the fetal position by the 5th game.

It is very funny , about 90% of all the people who post here hate TO.But still they read the whole article.
I dont know about most of you, but NFL is show business first and a sport second. I watch NFL because of players like TO, Favre, Randy Moss, Kurt Warner. These are play makers ..players who make a difference. I guess if you work in a company, you will see that , even if there is team, there will always be a star performer, who will come up solutions for real tough problems, when no one else can solve it. These people are similar , except that they make 100 times more money than I do. ( of course the detractors of TO will come up with some other argument, but it is OK to argue). And remember that these players are only as good as they are healthy. They put in so much physical effort ( which I dont think any one of us can put even 1/100th of what they do ) . So what is wrong in looking for some attention when he is active. Do you think we will give a damn if they are not playing.

I would recommend the Offensive Coordinator update his resume, T.O will tear him up. He is playing for his next contract so he wants as many catches and yards as possible.

Wow dude, I think you are way into TO. He's just another Loud-Mouth player who is still with out a Super Bowl ring. He's a good player yes but a "ME" player first. Things always seem to turn sour when he's around. I hope it changes in Buffalo but thats pushing it. Once a Prick, always a Prick..........

Most people are waiting for the next Owens debacle, and quite frankly, I think that he has been a disgracefully distracting caricature of what could have been a true Hall of Fame calibre reciever. If I were Mr. Owens, I would concentrate on becoming the "world class" afalete", he continually claims himself to be, and let the ego-maniac routine, pass away into the shadows of my past. He has a world class stage upon which to perform, and he is desperate to act like a local area clown in place of a should-be superstar.
Shame on T.O., Personality may put a few butts in the seats, however, he has hurt every team upon which he has played, and that has had an effect as well, upon those fans who pay to see the entire team produce an outcome that he has shown in the past, to be just a bit outside of his self-celebrated reach.

Jacksonville has sold about 39,000 season tickets, built too big a stadium such that they have to tarp over 10,000 seats (yet still get to call their games a sellout) , and got not a lick of a jump in interest in their team even after being given a Superbowl out put financial pity...yet they don't get a 50th of the "relocation" press coverage that he Bills get....
So bang on about us America....all we do in response is buy more tickets. So guess what finger we're all saluting you with, and enjoy.
