Ogden coming back

The Baltimore Ravens now know they don't need to draft a starting offensive tackle this weekend.

Jonathan Ogden told The Sun last night that he plans to return to the Ravens for his 12th season.

Ogden, the 10-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle, had been contemplating retirement since the Ravens' playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

i'm a big ravens fan, and to the #10 comment sucks that bucs didnt get johnson and i hope that BURNS lol
ogden is a beast he is an awesome lineman he did his job and always will. samari is a bum and we need to trade him and like a 4th round pick for the 2008 draft. so far ravens have made some ok draft picks. they got ben grubbs but i still think they should draft troy smith to sort of help mold him into the future QB of the ravens. what better mentor than air mcnair?!?!! also to the guy that said we traded our pro bowl RB, if you are talking about jamal he's a bum now, he has been for the past 2 seasons. he was good that 1 year, rest of the times he was a disgrace, could barely get 80 yards a game. willis mcgahee, i look forward to seeing. after this draft and free agency i hope we have a great solid team.

as an OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY fan .... I must say ... J Ogden coming back and Troy Smith going to the Ravens ..... what an opportunity for Troy to have someone of Mcnair's caliber teaching him the pro game. Don't get it twisted .... this kid is a stud ..... watch what happens !!!!!

Having Troy Smith learn from Steve McNair is some of the best things to happen to both players this season thus far. Not only will Smith (hopefully) have McNair's excellance at QB postion rub of on them, McNair also has a young player that plays the the same type of football at his side. This could mean alot to McNair later on in the season. People dont realize players need players like them behind them.
And Ogden will always have a place in the league when ever he wants. He is hands down one of the top LT in the game. Even at his age.

He be slow and he be cumbersone like last year. He should retires. We need some big boys that are more dumb and stupid than this old fat boy. We be needin speed at left tackle. We be needin something that Ray Lewis likes and can be friends with because he dont be likein this Odgen because he be taking some stuff for maximum performance and that not be fair for the Ravens.
McNair be getting killed because this boy is slow ans stupid because he got old quick and just a fat boy too slow to reliaze he got fat and slow.
He should work out with the team, but lose some weight and about 60 pounds off that fat handles because he be slow and we need some speed. Maybe he should take some speed legal over the counter diet pills that all the young athletes are taking for losing fast.
He's just too fat to play football. Hes really fat and disgusting. Give him a hot dog please....no about 5 or 6. Thank You. Word.

McNair is old and slow too. Should they get rid of him? They still have a little bit left in them. Use them.

The Dolphins are just fine...too much concern about Quinn's true ability...time will tell...plus, didn't Miami pick up a quality QB later in the draft?
I agree that NE is the team to beat...hands-down...add 4 WRs, one of the best LBs in the game, a great TE, and then go to the draft and fill-in whatever concerns you have...
The Patriots are definitely the team to beat...they now have no weaknesses...
Our Ravens always have a chance with our awesome defense, but we really need some offensive output...some down the field excitement, and some better quality run yards.
How about no more 6 yard passes when we need 8 for a first down...better yet, how about no more third and longs...let's get some serious yards on first down so as to give the offense more options...

J.O. has not lost a step. He had turf toe last season.
If you ever had it then you'd know it is excruciating and severely limits mobility.
He's had one bad game in his CAREER.
Other than one game, he'd DOMINATED EVERYONE who has ever faced him.

I think the Pats are going to turn out to be overrated while teams like the Ravens and Chargers fly under the radar. I think the Ravens will beat the Chargers in the AFC Championship game. New England will make the playoffs as a wild card and the Jets will take the division. I know they look good on paper but mark my words they wont live up to the high expectations.

I find it awkward to hear Ravens fans cheering how they're going to get to the Super Bowl with an aging quarterback who was the key to the Ravens winning their first Superbowl. Air McNair has shown toughness and heart and grit, but, not the ability to make THE THROW. THE THROW, for a perfect example, was just a simple 7 yard dump pass to Eddie George that was behind George enough that Ray "the Defensive god" Lewis enough room to grab it at the same time as George and pull it away for the return TD and the Trip to the Lombardi next game.
For those who still disagree, how 'bout Mason in the Titans Superbowl having to reach back the same way on a similiar pass (i.e. THE THROW), and guess what with ending that same distance short on the pass, being the equivalent short distance for end zone might say complete accuracy is important. Brady has shown that with his three Lombardi's, Montana, Bradshaw, Staubach......... (Bueller....Bueller...Anyone....Anyone.....)
#3 says it's the recievers fault--I'm sorry, but if you can keep pace offensively with The Ravens TE's, D Mason, Williams, or the Son of Clayton.........I can't say it's the reciever's.
As for the other guy who needs to be the dude on the NFL Access commercial for talking sports out of his........(um that'd be you #43)
TROY SMITH?!!!!!! TROY SMITH?!!!!! (in my best Stephen Jackson "are you for real?!!!" tone)
His career will be as effective as Last Year's Championship Bowl Game...........
How can I say this, BECAUSE I watched that GAME!!!!!!!
GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD, IF YOU HAVE BAD THROWING TECHNIQUE, demonstrate you cannot read a Defense (on the College Level), have a great arm with NO ACCURACY, but can scramble great...you'll be as effective on the Ravens as say....a KYLE BOLLER-who can scramble. And should 3 be correct, with recievers like those, he still doesn't have a prayer.
Currently, with either QB ("Aged" McNair, or T. Smith), they are at best a backing in into the playoffs team (thanks for the weaker schedule Commish), crushed again in the opening round.
They would've been better inviting the undersized, team-system-surounded-with-talent Gator-Leak, or that Italian Kid (Baldo?), even the QB from Boise State--QB's who did make THAT THROW play last year to win THE GAMES. How they weren't drafted at all with what was drafted at the QB position is ridiculous, and 'agenda-dizing'.
Ravens need to get a good, solid QB, who can do it with his arm, read defenses, AND make THAT THROW.
I hear Brett Favre wants out of no offense talent/ depth Green Bay....
    (Bueller...Bueller...Anyone.....Anyone.....)
    Peace.

Oh and it's good to see Ogden back, anytime you can get an experienced vet back, even if he can help in a back-up roll, adds much needed depth.

Ogden should just retire. He was less than average last year. I can still see Dwight Freeney blowing by him almost every down.

Didn't these old slow and out of shape has beens go 13-3 last year. Why all the hate? Ogden is a leader and a good blocker. Freeney kills him in the matchup but we should have a good blocking full back. Ricard is signed by Cleveland. I love the fullback that Mug was last year but the backs have to block.
