NFL - Sports Rumors

“BradyBrady Quinn(notes) started out his third season in the NFL as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns and now he's put up his house for sale and is said to be apparently considering making a trade request, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Quinn hasn't made the request just yet and it appears that he might not actually go through with it.

He tells the paper that it is "not my nature to do something like that. I have a contract with the Browns and I intend to play that out." He went on to say, "I'm here right now to do the best I can for this team. That's the situation I'm presented with."

Of course, he's not "playing" anything out. He's sitting on the bench and watching Derek Anderson(notes). There are only five days before the NFL trading deadline so it's not looking likely that anything would actually get done before then, anyway.

Such a nice guy to be treated the way all quarterbacks end up being treated in Cleveland, Look at Charlie Fry, Tim Couch, Bernie Kosar, etc. etc.

BQ will leave and show the Browns that it wasn't him, it was them. Just like Braylon Edwards is going to do. The Browns kill careers. People want to say, "Oh, Cleveland could've gotten McNabb but they got Couch instead. What a bunch of morons." Or the same thing with drafting Joe Thomas over Adrian Peterson. If we would have drafted McNabb and Couch would have went to the Eagles, then COUCH would be the star pro-bowler, and McNabb would be the guy living under the highway bridge.
Braylon probably loves Cleveland now that they gave him a free pass out of town, just as Courtney Brown probably does. Nobody wants to play here, and it has nothing to do with the city.

even brady realizes that he has no trade value.
the only way he'll end up somewhere other than cleveland is if he is released.

#1. If Cleveland is a sespool, what would that make St. Louis? Well, at least look at the bright side. Your team might not get BQ, but they should have first dibs at Sam Bradford.

Brady Quinn for Trent Edwards. 2 QB's who need a change of scenary badly. Edwards has been nothing short of a disaster this season, living up to his "captain checkdown" nickname, and if Quinn can't get a chance to start over a QB who goes 2 for 17 in a game, it's obvious the Mangenius and his coaching staff have lost faith in his abilities. At this point, what could it hurt to make this deal happen? As a Bills fan, still searching for a new franchise QB in the post-Kelly era, I say do it!

Brady Quinn is just not that good. He will be nothing more than a career backup. Anderson did good a couple of years ago but I think the coaching has a lot to do with his recent failures (c'mon, how in the hell do you go 2-17 for 23 yards - those are Ryan Leif numbers). Either way Quinn and Anderson just throw the ball, they don't block, catch, or play defense.

Mangini could not coach a midget football team and yet he is in the NFL.When your quarterback completes two passes in a game and you stay with him you should be coaching midget football.
It is very sad that such a storied franchise cannot find a quality coach.
I hope Brady finds another home where his many skills can be displayed.

Jbardo...how about blaming the wr's for all of the ridiculous drops.
Trent Edwards and Brady Quinn are twins....both are check down qb's only...
Brady Quinn dropped in the draft because every team saw he had NO potential he is and will always be a bust...
If brady quinn gets traded thats great don't expect much from him....you can put lip stick on a pig but its still a pig

Actually Quinn probably didn't demand a trade because he knows how incredibly BAD derek anderson is. 2 for 17?! Really? Each guy has had 2.5 games of action and Quinn is better in nearly EVERY passing stat. More completions (in fewer attempts) and a higher completion percentage (by far). More passing yards (yet DA is suppose to be the big downfield threat? yikes)....and again, on even fewer attempts. Fewer INTs. Same number of TDs (sadly it's 1 apiece).
Quinn has been sacked more.....then again, Denver's Elvis went crazy and has all year. He also hasn't gotten as many 3rd down convertions......but did he get a fair shake here? Anderson in his 2 full started games has had back-to-back 100 yard rushers. Quinn was not so fortunate going against a stout Vikings, Broncos, and Baltimore run D's. When teams can stuff the run, it makes for a lot of long 3rd downs. DA has been converting, but he's had the benefit of a healthy (lewis AND Harrison in the same game finally) running attack.
DA should be putting up far better numbers than Quinn.....but he's not. Why? Cause he's barely a backup in this league.
Quinn may never be very good....but he's far and away better than Anderson, and he's proved it so far.
And not sure why he'd want to go to St. Louis......it's an even bigger nightmare than Cleveland right now (voted most dangerous city in the US...yeah, and Cleveland is the sespool, good grief).

I agree with you on everything you said difference is DA got the win this week and took the Bengals to OT so the coaches don't care about stat's, its sad actually! But I expect DA to falter again this week and Quinn starting next week.
    Still a DA fan though!

This article isextreamly suggestive. First off, he's selling the house to move closer to the practice facility and to get a smaller place. People are allowed to sell their homes, period. I've followed this story since it's started and it's nothing more than overexaggeration and suggestion coming from the media. He's not going anywhere.

Jason, as a Bills fan, I would do that, and we'll throw in Trent Edwards for a 2010 conditional draft pick. Only thing though, couldn't imagine TO and the Mangenius getting along at all. That could get ugly real fast.

Bryan...you are right. Ugly....you are wrong. I have been saying all along that he is simply selling the house because he is a single dude who doesn't need a big ass house like the one he lives in. He also won't be making as much money as he thought he was. He said on the local news last night that the house requires too much up keep and he wants to move closer to the Browns facilites. Some douche named Travis tried to say he knows the inside scoop and that Brady bought the house straight up. That is not true. Go to the Lorain County Auditor website and you will see that he has a mortgage through Wachovia. He wouldn't have a mortgage if he bought the house straight up. He will not be traded. The Browns may still need him and they wouldn't be able to get anything for him in a trade anyway. Quinn stays in Cleveland, period.

Jason and Daniel....The Browns got rid of Braylon Edwards because he has an attitude problem. Why would they bring in T.O.? T.O. is a known for messing up team chemistry. There is no way they would say bye bye to Braylon and then bring in Owens. I would take Trent Edwards though, he is decent.

Nate, if you read my whole post, I do make mention how TO would not work out in Cleveland. All I said was I would do a TO and Edwards for Quinn and a 2010 draft pick trade. I never said it would actually happen and he and the Mangenius would be a fight waiting to happen.
