According to the New York Times, the common wisdom suggests that with no need to double-cover suspended Plaxico Burress, New York Giants opponents can blitz more defenders against quarterback Eli Manning or stack the middle against the running game, which is anchored by Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw.

That could motivate receivers like Amani Toomer, Domenik Hixon, Steve Smith, Sinorice Moss and Mario Manningham, as well as the Giants' other pass-catchers. Ward grabs screen passes out of the backfield, fullback Madison Hedgecock catches swing passes when not blocking, and tight end Kevin Boss is a big target in crowded secondaries.

"We have a team full of receivers," said Moss, who is seventh among the Giants with nine catches. "It's a big challenge because now it's on us. It's not on Plaxico. We have the opportunity to get in the game."

Ward, third on the Giants with 36 catches, said: "I can screen. I can run a route. I run swings."

I wonder why the Giants Offense looked better without Burress this year? Seattle, Washington Cardinals games Eli looked better than he did all year.
Hixon, TOom, Smith, Moss, boss and we may even see a Manningham today.
Plax is great and a great weapon, but the reality is eli looks for him to much. When he spreads the ball around he is so much better.
Watch eli take the next step in becoming a true elite QB. He may have already to some, but now he really will start lighting teams up. Watch out eagles. They may run the ball down your throats, but you cant stop our pass either

As a Cowboy fan I feel the G-Men have shown they can win without Burress but eventually his absence will be missed on the field. I hope its next week and maybe during a game in the playoffs but it might not matter if the Boys cannot show they can win without Barber. Either way good luck beating the Eagles. GO D.

Giants will be fine...they don't have the big play threat anymore but if Hixon steps up shouldn't be a problem.

I think the cowboys and giants need more publicity........they only occupy 50% of espn's total coverage, and it should be 65%........go jets, giants, yankees , mets, islanders, randers, knicks

Burress is a stupid toad. I was thrilled when Cower sent him packing like the lazy ass mule that he has been proven to be. To bad he didnt shoot himself in the head.

Burress must have been jealous of all the attention Pacman got. Hope he likes the reward he has coming. Pierce should get whacked by the law and league too, and some of the Giant brass should get shown the door and banned from the NFL.

WTF? Eagles are really taking it to the Giants if not for a blocked kick for a TD. The Phils are doing what the G-Men have done. . . ran the ball, play good D and control the clock. Maybe, just maybe the Burress distraction was too much. . .
